Salty, recommend me a monitor $150> that's 1080p, preferably with built in speakers.
This or this larger one for only slightly more.
What does this "ASCR" thing mean? And will it really affect anything with one being 20000:1 and the other 1,000,000:1?
Here.

tldr: No.
Alright then. Looks like I just need to pick out some thermal paste and a ethernet and I'm all good! Anyone wanna recommend me some thermal paste $10>?

Would they be interested in a laptop? It would be a much better deal for the price, and they can always purchase a monitor later if they want a bigger screen.

I think the appeal of the All-in-One is the keyboard detached from the screen. Basically having a desktop without the tower.

It's honestly disappointing that the prices for All-in-Ones are so marked up. They're basically non-mobile laptops.

He's only getting an i3, so if he got a B75 or H77 board he could more easily fit in a 7850.
What is the i5 goes on sale at Microcenter again for $99, but he only has an H77 board? Again, the motherboard is going to last longer than the GPU.
If he was going to upgrade from the i3 later on wouldn't it make sense to do it to an entirely different socket type? Besides, the $99 i5 was a black friday deal and you can still use an i5 on an H77 board just fine obviously.
I don't see any non-1156 i5's.

MX-4 is the best on the market right now for sub $10. The better ones include Diamond 7 and NT-H1.

That is true.

I should switch over to a Mac soon....seeing that Steam is making a huge push on the Mac platform for gaming, and because Macs are just so damn powerful.

I know right? I actually own three Macs, and I upgraded the RAM to 16GB for only $400. That's a much better deal than just installing it myself, since I could have broken my $2500 machine.

I'd say to look at other laptops that are in the same price range rather than going with a single brand.

Do PCs have retina display? I don't think so.

Can you honestly say that though? With an All-in-One, you can have the monitor further with the keyboard closer.

A laptop + monitor just isn't as comfortable.

Maybe I could just buy a laptop with a huge screen and separate the monitor from it lol

They don't have the brand name, but I'm sure you can easily find a machine with the pixel density to qualify.

Let me clarify:

> Purchase laptop, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
> Disable the laptop's setting that puts it to sleep when you close it.
> Connect the monitor and other peripherals to the laptop, then close it and put it under the monitor stand.
> Bam.

After all, the only i7 PC's on Newegg.ca are $1200+, and tne i5's that actually out-perform the laptop start at $1000+.

A great monitor.

Well damn, that's right.

I'm wondering if I could get the smallest possible laptop, the monitor, the keyboard and the mouse for under 800$?

They currently have an old iMac (edit: Just checked, the 'about' page says 2009). Would it even be possible to use that as a monitor?

No problem. The best part is that if you decide to upgrade any of your computer parts, you can use your old ones to build them a desktop, and they already have a monitor and the other stuff. They would just need some cheap speakers.

Hey guys what's a good keyboard? Not looking for mechanical, and preferably something around $30.

This one looks fun.

More normal.

Or the same one that I suggested above.

It really comes down to personal preference at this low of a price.

So I can just plug the Optical Drive into the Sata2 right? It isn't worth plugging it into the Sata3?

But I should plug the HDD into the Sata3, correct?
