So, the mouse+mousepad wasn't the problem. I get the same result with each mouse that I used (3 of them). I'm now starting to think that my video card might be a bit faulty. Or maybe it was the monitor, but I get the same performance from both monitors that I've used. I guess I should obtain a better card asap, but looking at my system unit, I'm a bit too scared to try to dismantle it.
It could be all of your mice or both of your monitors. Or even the mousepad. Either way, take a few pictures of the inside of your system and post them here. If it doesn't have watercooling, you should be fine.

I got these cheeseburgers man....

Just kidding, found the TX-4 at Microcenter, so I'll pick that one up.

Nice choice. I use Shin Etsu thermal compound because I had some extra money at the time.

This is starting to become more complex....

This is why you don't purchase prebuilts / low-end GPU's.

What's up with your PSU and SSD? You should definitely downgrade to the 670 and use the extra to get a modular PSU like the Corsair TX750v2 (same price as 650W). For the SSD, get a 128GB Intel, Samsung, or Crucial. 64GB isn't enough space for programs, as I use 100GB in programs alone on my HDD. Programs as in not-games and not media files.

How reliable would you say mail-in-rebate is?

The time it takes to get the money back doesn't matter to me, only getting money back at all really matters.

Everything else is perfect though. One question, why aren't you getting the K model of the CPU? It's only a few bucks more and you don't have to overclock it. It's always nice to have the option though. You might also want to pick up a $20 Cooler Master Hyper 212+ because it's quieter than the Intel stock fan.

is what I found for my usb cable. NewEgg seems like the most reliable, but really damn expensive for something so cheap. Ebay is the best deal by far, as it'll work right away. This "Cable wholesale" website would require another adapter.

Does anybody know how trustworthy that Ebay buyer is?

Downgrade GPU to a 670, get a 3570k instead, get a Samsung 830 128GB SSD instead, make sure your PSU is modular, and you really don't need 16GB of RAM if you're just gaming and that, 8GB will do fine. I'd recommend getting a P8Z77-V Pro motherboard instead, if you still have enough of a budget left.

Also, invest in a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo for a aftermarket CPU cooler.

If the supplier seems safe, I'll go for it.

tldr: What I said. Although you don't need the P8Z77-V Pro if you don't have the money.

Yeah, I know, I just thought it'd be good to hear it from a second mouth. And yeah, the motherboard he has now is fine, but if he still has money, he should get the Pro.

In other news...

Who the hell do you think I am?

Gigabyte makes great motherboards as well in case you were looking into Z77 boards.

I think I may have asked this question already but..
Anyway after building my PC (thanks to y'all flood) I am still in need of a TV or monitor. Anyway, I had used my previous TV both to watch cable and use as a monitor via HDMI. Now, I want to upgrade my TV to accommodate my new gaming monster. Which brings me to my next question. Any good LED 1080 HDTV's preferably for >$200? OR if there is anyway to watch cable television on a monitor (and please inform me if this is possible) any good monitors (with TV capabilities) for >$200? Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, thank you to those who gave me advice. I appreciate it. Anyways, I remembered that my sister knows someone from work who she says is really good with computers (fixed her old pc and her laptop). I'm gonna ask her if he could help me out with disassembling my PC. And who knows, maybe he knows about a thing or two of gaming PCs.

Pretty damn reliable. Some sites / companies do it differently. One may send cash back, one may send a gift card. I got a visa from corsair.

If you have a receiver, you can plug your ethernet cord / cable box into that, and then run an HDMI from the receiver to the monitor. If not, you're gonna have to settle for watching TV on your TV and playing games on your monitor.

The monitor that I use.

Thank you, I saw tuners and receivers and wondered if there was an easier (read cheaper) way to do it. Anyway thank you :)

After taking PMC Fluffy's advice and doing some more research I think I've learned a lot. I took another shot at a test build, this time it being $800. I'm not asking for a full critique again, but if someone could tell me if it's a good/decent build then that would be great.

Here it is.
Looks pretty solid.
