t3hAvenger77 - XBL (BF3, ME3, Blops)
decla1mer104 - Origin (BF3)
Steam

During the intro for BL2, it gives some explanation about the events from Borderlands 1.

So you don't really have to play the first game, you play as different characters anyway.

Alright, sweet, I'll skip right to 2. Now I just need to pick up BF3.

Download this, then download, and open up the Flash Drive Tool and it'll make it bootable. Then just reboot off that and install.

It's requiring a USB drive or DVD. I only have a single HDD in my PC to install from. Is it possible to create a bootable installation partition?

So I just set up a new airflow system and I want to test my CPU temps. At around 5% load, realtemp says that I am in the high 20's for CPU temp. First, is this a good idle temp? And second, is there anyway to put my CPU under load to get a load temp?

20C is relatively cool.

Mine doesn't even dip down to 30C. Probably due to high environment temperatures as it averages between 24C to 33C outside.

Your PC doesn't have a USB port or anything?

Thank you, is there anyway to test the CPU under load?

Google "Prime95" and run Realtemp at the same time.

I hope Borderlands 2 goes on sale.
It usually does.

Maybe I can help you at the beginning of the game.

---

Anyway, how's Assassin's Creed 3 on PC?
Should I play BL1 before BL2?
I felt like BL1 was a better game, but BL2 was more fun. You might as well get both!

Only if your motherboard supports Virtu.

Does this support virtu?
Yes. It says so in the overview.

Oh, kk. I never heard of Virtu before. Do you guys use it?
I don't use it because my GPU is powerful enough, although I might try it out sometime.

Does anyone know of a good gaming keyboard that's on Amazon?

EDIT: Does it even need to be a gaming keyboard? Can it be a regular keyboard?
How much? A mechanical would cost you $67 but is a MUCH better investment than... anything else really.

Then buy one... You can get them for like, $5 now.

@PMC, which test in Prime95 should I use, and for how long?

I just use the default one, and since you're not overclocking, the temps will level out after a few seconds. It's an application meant to run your system under full load to see if it blue screens while trying to increase clock speeds.

I understand I can buy one, but it's rather late, and I'd like to install it right now.

Isn't there a way to put installation files into another partition then boot from it?

You'd need a way to make the ISO bootable.

I guess I could spend $67.

EDIT: How necessary is it?
The keyboard.
TK with red switches.
TK with blues.

I don't have time to elaborate right now, but you can check these links:

So under 100% CPU load for 2 minutes, RealTemp said my hottest temperature out of all four cores was 57 degrees. Is this good under load? And what does this mean when I game? Will these temperatures increase while gaming?

Thanks a lot!
I'll have more time to type out a wall of text tomorrow. If you have a Best Buy near you, you can try out their Razer Blackwidow (but don't buy it). Microcenter and Fry's also has Cooler Master boards on display. Microcenter is actually going to start carrying Leopolds, Filcos, and Ducky's.

You'll never reach those temps while gaming, and those temps are excellent. What CPU and HSF are you running?

Thisbeast of a CPU cooler. So I shouldn't be worried about my CPU temperature at all? And I'm adding a 7950 GPU as soon as it arrives, would that boost temperatures or no?
And thank you for all the help by the way.

Nah, the only dangerous CPU temps are over 80*C.

And the 7950 will increase ambient temperatures inside the case a little, but nothing that would affect performance (other than the GPU itself kicking every game's ass).

So I used to like Best Buy due to the employees knowledge but I think Newegg and this Topic is BY FAR the best way to get anything technological done. Thank you very much Fluffy :)

No problem. Also, keep an eye out for the Steam winter sales that start tomorrow. Dozens of games are going to be on sale for 50-90% off.
