I got these cheeseburgers man....

I feel like I -blam!- up somewhere installing the heatsink... Newegg video wasn't much help, neither was the heatsink manual... I didn't install the backplate that goes on the back of the motherboard and it just feels really lose, but i'm not sure for how long to keep screwing it in.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND Newegg sends me the wrong PSU. Of course, they send me a non-modular one. Of course... Now I'm in the same boat as Thirsty... somewhat. Wait, did they? I thought modular PSUs don't have any wires attached at all.

The PSUs that are semi-modular (the one you got) Newegg labels as modular.

Always look at the pictures of the product your are buying on Newegg before you buy it...

What the -blam!- Newegg. What the -blam!-. Would you recommend still using it? Or should I return it. This is the PSU, by the way.

Well, my computer is already built and I have it booting from my HDD right now which has Windows 32 bit on it right now. (The only reason I used 32 is because I had it lying around at the time). So now I'm adding the new SSD, does that change anything?

How much worse is a semi-modular PSU compared to a modular? Nevermind, just checked on Newegg again, they didn't even send the right PSU. This isn't even a semi-modular.

Guys, why is it telling me to activate windows? Most of these components (mobo included) are new, but the hard drive that I originally activated windows on is not new.

Whenever Windows detects a new motherboard...you have to activate it again. If you call Microsoft you can settle everything.

My pull this year. I can honestly say that reds are better than browns.

Also, here's a great comparison of the 680 vs the 7970. There are plenty of other games tested, this page of the review shows BF3: http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/3714/4/radeon-hd-7970-and-gef orce-gtx-680-tested-with-10-cpus-battlefield-3
They broke rule #1 of graph-making. Always start with zero for the y-axis. They trick you into thinking the 7970 is immensely better when it's only marginally better.
I was well aware of the actual difference between the two, but it made it apparent either way that the 7970 is usually slightly better or the same, for $100 less than the 680.

ALWAYS USE THE BACKPLATE!

If you don't, you can crack your motherboard and fry your CPU. Check this video.

Dude, that PSU is top of the line for under $100. Why the hell would you want to return it?

Also, modular =/= fully modular. It doesn't matter which one it is as long as you can hide the cables.

Considering the fact that 32 bit can only use 3GB of RAM, you'd benefit more from a x64 OS than an SSD.

Exactly, and I have 16GB installed so thats why I am upgrading to a 64 bit OS on the SSD. Sadly, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to SSDs :(

The 620W M12II is great. Which one did they send you instead?

Do I need Intel Management Engine?

I tried installing it on Windows 8 64-Bit, and it didn't work.

The computer is seeming to work fine without it.

It's really not that much different from an HDD.

But for one, you should never ever defrag your SSD. The only thing that should go on it are your most used programs, don't even put Steam on there since it will probably fill up really quick, and SSDs get slower with the less space they have available.

Uhm... what does "defrag" mean? :D
It takes all of the files installed and reorganizes them so that your most used files are closer together so that they can be read quicker. Because SSD's aren't magnetic-based, they don't need to be defragged, which is also why they run faster.

And Salty, I love how you think SSD's aren't an improvement.
