Uhm... what does "defrag" mean? :D
It takes all of the files installed and reorganizes them so that your most used files are closer together so that they can be read quicker. Because SSD's aren't magnetic-based, they don't need to be defragged, which is also why they run faster.

And Salty, I love how you think SSD's aren't an improvement.

It's really not that much different from an HDD.

But for one, you should never ever defrag your SSD. The only thing that should go on it are your most used programs, don't even put Steam on there since it will probably fill up really quick, and SSDs get slower with the less space they have available.
I can vouch for TRIM's role in retaining performance.

My SSD has never slowed down and it's 55% full.

How much worse is a semi-modular PSU compared to a modular? Nevermind, just checked on Newegg again, they didn't even send the right PSU. This isn't even a semi-modular.
The 620W M12II is great. Which one did they send you instead?
620W 12II. I decided I'll keep it though, my friends coming over now to help me set it up, so I should be fine.

So my Dad is buying the PSU for me. Just hope he gets the right one (620W M12II) and not the S12II because I'm not in the mood to do cable management...

It's not a sale. That's the 1GB version which is why it's so cheap.

Look at it again. It's original price is 179.99. Its on sale for 159.99. Then you get a $20 rebate card, which puts it at 139.99.

I never said that! What I meant was that there a more important things you could be getting before you spend a lot on an SSD, it's definitely an improvement, but it's simply for convenience.

Tons of items have that "Save $XX"; when an item is actually on sale it will have the coupon code on the page with it. It's like how amazon prices all their stuff.

Alright, well, on a different topic, do they make different sizes of standoffs? The ones that came with my case are too short :(

They should definitely fit. What case and what motherboard?

I got these cheeseburgers man....

Hey guys! Finally got it running. My friends coming back over tomorrow and we'll finish the cable management and get the case plugs all plugged in, but, one question. I just installed the 12.11 drivers, and as soon as that was installed, my screen shrunk and now I have a black box around the whole window. How do I remove that?

I assume there are GPU drivers from either AMD or Nvidia, right?
I think in the Windows setting there's a way to change the resolution.

You should be able to change it back in CCC, but make sure your that your video cable is plugged into the video card and not the motherboard.

Yep, it's in the motherboard. But, apparently I don't have NET 4.0 installed yet, so I can't run CCC, so I'll have to wait till that's install in a Windows Update.

I think I found it out. Do you use 2 standoffs per hole? Like screw them into the case first, then put the motherboard on those standoffs, then screw another "layer" of standoffs into the already placed ones (through the holes on the mobo)?

Never plug it into the motherboard, it has to be in the video card.

No... You put the standoffs into the case, put the motherboard on the standoffs (one standoff per hole), then put in the screws. It should definitely fit with your case.

Sorry sorry sorry, don't know what I was thinking. Yeah, it's in the GPU, I'm not sure why I have that border though. I didn't have it before I had CCC installed.

Screws? The screws that are in the same bag as the standoffs, I assume?
