I have next to no knowledge on building a PC (Or components in general), but I want to build a good one for gaming. Can anyone direct me to posts/websites that can teach me the basics?
First, ask in this thread. It's more active. Don't forget to mention your budget and everything that you will use it for (college, programming, gaming, 3D artist, etc.)

Second, save that thread.

Third, after you post in that thread, I will put together a list of parts and where to buy them for you.

No, he is in the correct thread.
Why are you so butthurt that an active user made a new thread to try and benefit the community? I'm trying to help this new person by telling them to post in the new thread because he will find more help there.

Okay guys. I'm looking to increase my computers gaming performance, so I have a question.

My current set up is -

Radeon HD 7770
X4 965 BE CPU

Now, I want to know, would I get more FPS in games (in general) by adding a second Radeon HD 7770 card, or by upgrading my cpu to the AMD FX-8350?

I think adding another 7770 would provide you with more FPS.

Who the hell do you think I am?

You would get better performance by just upgrading to a 7870.

I have a question.

Someone in customer service at Fry's said that the AMD Radeon HD 7850 is primarily for business purposes. Is that true? Anandtech says that it performs pretty well with games like Crysis and Dirt 3. Also, why do almost all of the gaming computers there have $50 gaming cards? I thought that the gaming cards needed to be of higher quality for a gaming computer.

Anyone have experience building with an NZXT Phantom? I got one for Christmas (lucky me) and I'm transferring my parts over in the near future. Reason I ask is because right now I have a Thermaltake Commander, and that was a nightmare to build with (PCIe slots were a hassle, hard drive bays are bizarre, several other things). Also there was absolutely no cable management space. The only cable I was able to route was the SATA.

Thank's in advance.

I was wondering if its possible to take a molex plug and use an adapter to plug it into a 6 pin pcie plug ir if that would just mess it up
