I <3 you too Bungie

Just saw this post by a fellow community member and became curious about community perception on whether Bungie will continue to be successful.

Is Bungie doomed? Why or why not?

  • 05.21.2012 11:14 AM PDT

I don't think so, they seem to be taking time making this new IP, so they obvious care a lot about it.

I never really understand why people that seemingly don't care about Bungie continue to post here...

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

It is unknown how the new universe Bungie is building will be, but they created Halo, we might get surprised and they reach a new level of epic.

Bungie has never dissapointed me before, so I have great hopes.

I have seen you future

They are not doomed. They are quiet now, but they have support for the next decade through Activision, and they will make a new game that will sell millions of copies. It's just that we don't see them doing anything right now, so they can seem dead to the casual observer. Remember, that a dying company wouldn't spend the money to redo their entrance.

My future is certain, I will one day fly away. All because I am saved from the penalty of sin. I know he lives.

A company (any company) that pays attention and acts on what ther customers (fan base) wants or desires, will remain a top competing company.

Give a mouse a cookie, he will come back for a glass of milk. The key is that he will come back. Yes, one could make the argument that eventually the giver will run out of items to satisfy the tiny hary creature. But I believe that Bungie has plenty up their sleve to offer.

With the amount of tallent that is sitting under one roof, the lack of ideas to keep us entertained is far from over. We should be getting prepared to be blinded with the awesomeness!

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

Yes, they are doomed.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

They'll do fine, they have many new opportunities ahead of them.

Playing devil's advocate: You just made a lot of assumptions about their relationship with Activision, future sales, and whether Bungie is confident of future success (and knows how well they're currently operating). Many dying companies never see death coming.

Fyi, from a casual perspective, it looks like they're doing well--but that's mostly just confidence in their past performance and blind appreciation.

We're all doomed in the end, nothing lasts forever.

Bye.

We can assume that "Destiny" will sell well just by having the name "BUNGiE" slapped on it. How well the games after that sell depend entirely on how good Destiny was. This is assuming they are making a new series and not a one off title.

:)

I guess it all depends on this new IP they're working on.

I trust Bungie, they have done great things in the past and they have felt failure with Halo 2, where the game almost didn't make it. I'm sure Bungie will deliver another great game. That's why we are here after all, we all know that.

  • 05.21.2012 11:50 AM PDT

Do I really need a signature?

It all depends on their next project.

  • 05.21.2012 11:52 AM PDT

Have you seen their studio?!

Dude's are -blam!- rollin in it.

  • 05.21.2012 11:56 AM PDT

Tin shacks and catfish bones.

Can they produce another powerhouse game like they did with Halo? Are they in the shadow of Halo?

NO PRESSURE NO PRESSURE NO PRESSURE NO PRESSURE

I have faith in their abillity to succeed, despite some of the missteps they may have made with Reach.

Not at the moment.

Activision must have had complete confidence in Bungie to take a 10 year contract for their game. WHILE letting bungie retain complete rights over the IP

This seems to be a common closing sentiment across many threads when talking about Bungie.

*shrugs*

I'd much rather have a weak outro to one universe than a weak intro to a new one, so as long as they learn from their mistakes we'll be good.

  • 05.21.2012 2:51 PM PDT

No I highly doubt they are, great opportunities in their future.

If we put our rings together and summon captain planet bungie will be saved.

But i have complete faith in them, even if it is a music game.
