In my opinion, Bungie can come up with a far better "booting" system for Halo 3 than they have for Halo 2.
If you are hunting teammates down with a shotgun, you should be booted.
If you are using a Warthog turret and a couple stray bullets hit a teammate and an enemy kills him soon after, you should not be booted.
You should only be given two chances in a game. Two betrayals (no reference to Halo CE), and it is the victims' choice as to whether or not you get booted.
Also, you should only be booted if you actually >>KILL<< a teammate. Hitting an ally in the ankle with an SMG bullet by accident and then having an enemy kill him with a sniper headshot should not result in the dead person's ability to boot you.
As my final rant... Don't boot someone if the option comes up. I have been given the choice to boot a teammate even though he didn't betray me or shoot me by accident... So I didn't press X. Hopefully others can do the same.
Who thinks that a much better system is needed for Halo 3?
