My troll sense is tingling.

Honestly, Bungie has made two sci-fi shooter franchises, do we really need another?

What would you prefer? Honestly, I was hoping it would be sci-fi again.

Besides, technically it's sci-fantasy.

I dunno. It's not really a big complaint, I just think that if they truly are trying something new with Destiny, it should be reflected in the genre.

I think I've said enough, I'll let you Bungiedrones think what you want, but when you guys go through the same thing Biodrones did, I'll be laughing endlessly. Oh, and one last tid bit, Reach has sold about 5 million units to date, and it has been out for almost 2 years. Good luck, Bungie. You'll -blam!- need it.
Stop with the namecalling or you will be gently excused from this discussion.

Also, you need to check your statistics. You are not only wrong, but you're miles off the correct sales figures for Halo: Reach. If you're going to call other people "stupid" and "drones," you damn well better come correct with your facts.
Ahahahaha, I agree. Here are some stats, Halo: Reach sold better and faster than Halo 3. They reached the 6 million unit benchmark within around 2 months.

Edit: If Bungie had only sold 5 million units to date with Halo: Reach, that would have been a breach of contract, and Activision could have terminated the contract.

You can do quite a bit with Science Fiction, they can create a game that feels drastically different from Marathon and Halo.

Even though this is science-fantasy. Which I've never heard of before :/ probably more like a fantasy world that can be described by science. ('Magic' not being the go to answer for everything fantasmic in the game)

Kind of like Avatar (James Cameron movie).

This stuff is always liable to happen when you go dark for this long. To be honest I'm surprised it took this long to come out.

I would like to take a moment and gloat a little. I basically said that it was going to be Sci-Fi.

Anyways, I will say that I'm scared as hell for Bungie because, well, Activision is Activision. While nobody forced Bungie to sign that contract, I feel obliged to tell Bungie to watch their ass.

I WANT to believe that the studio won't be worked to the bone and that what comes out won't be beaten to death like CoD or Halo. But I'm also incredibly excited to see that they retain all rights to Destiny. After seeing them lose Myth and Oni to Take 2 Interactive and Halo to Microsoft, I hope that they now have the liberty to preserve their universe's integrity.

As for the IP itself, I'm hoping that the term MMO is extremely broad for the purposes of legal documents. I am so sick of WoW and, the now failing, SWTOR. I am sick of a bunch of cloned MMOs and I am dying for something different.

FPSMMO in space? Sign me the -blam!- up. I just hope that they can pull it off and that they don't treat their customers like -blam!-. *cough*Activision-Blizzard*cough* *cough*error37*cough*

Why do people keep bringing up 'MMO'? Does it actually say it in the contract? I've see 'massive multiplayer style', but not MMO.

Well, I don't think that people are reading it that way. Ever heard of an MMS? So, like I said, I hope that's pointing to something that we don't quite have a genre for.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You have a lot of good points as usual.

Activision seems to be pulling a lot of bs over Bungie. They are making Microsoft seem like angels.

The thing about Microsoft from what I have noticed, they just let Bungie pretty much do what they wanted (as long as it was Halo) and gave Bungie the time to do it right.

It sucks Bungi lost Oni, Myth, and Halo.

I am still confused about this Marathon game. I just never saw that coming in a million years.

Destiny sounds interesting but I doubt it will be an MMO.

If it was an MMO, there probably wuldn't be THAT many games coming out that fast. MMOs are supposed to keep you playing that game for years, not get ready to play an upcoming sequel. Notice how we don't have wow 5 out.

I have a feeling Destiny will combine many RPG/MMO elements like they first tried to do with halo but ultimately abandoned.

I am not freaking out about this yet. This looks discouraging now but Bungi has yet to explain anything. Though this scedule should NEVER of been seen by the public and screwed Bungie over big time.

When you think about it, it kinda makes sense. Look back at to when they handed over the reigns to 343i. The maintained all ownership to all of the Marathon logos, etc. Should've been our first hint.

Shot in the dark here, I'm pretty sure that's because Marathon was never Microsoft's property. When they were bought by MS, I think that it was supposed to be for good, so separating Marathon logos likely wasn't an issue back in 2001.

Seeing as the cat's out of the bag, Bungie should promote the game at this year's E3.

A small teaser trailer would be nice...

It makes sense for them to get the rights to that stuff back but I still mean why, why make a new Marathon game?

The Universe imploded, that was the end of the game, the end of everything.

It was a good ending to the game and the story was so confusing sometimes because of time travel.

I just am curious to see how this is gonna go down.

But, I wish Bungie still owned Myth. I would of liked Myth 4 so much.
