I imagine that if their new series is coming out next year that they will start discussing it sometime between November-January. Leaning towards January since Reach details started coming out then.

Almost a year before any info might appear? NOOOOOO!

E3 is less than a month away.

We could possibly get something at the next VGAs.

I imagine the head honchos at Bungie aren't too happy with this. Seems a little ridiculous that something like this needs to be brought up for a court case. Rather interesting considering the first press release regarding Bungie and Activision said it the Infinity Ward fiasco wouldn't affect them.

-The second game is targeted for 360

YES. I don't have to buy a 720 for quite a while. :D

-There will be other DLC, subscriptions, microtransactions, and value added services.

That better not mean what I think it means...

-blam!- Bungie ELITE, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Following Reach's release pattern, there should be a teaser at some point.

I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

Well 2013 isn't horribly far away, I proposed a 2013 fall release. The waiting period also won't be to bad because they won't be totally dark. I also feel that Bungie is going to be rather angry that they were dragged into this court. A court case that they don't seem to belong in.

Referring to Marathon, that might be what Marcus L is working on, seems to make sense. Anyone else agree with that?

Bungie also agreed to put out four downloadable expansion packs code-named "Comet," every other year beginning in the fall of 2014.
No sir, I don't like where this is going.
I don't see how this is a bad thing.
Activision + DLC = never a good thing.
True, but that wasn't where I was going. Bungie likes to take their time when making games. The final product tends to be very well balanced and bug free. With an alternating release of a full game and one of these expansion packs, depending on what they are, could be a bit worrying.

Looks like the game has to have a "Teen" rating or else it will be a breach of the contract. Looks like no more "Mature" games from Bungie for the next 10 years.
Oh -blam!-. This just gets worse and worse....

So now we know Bungie's entire plan? They want to release games every two years? So many questions, yet I do think that Bungie can handle making good games within two years, since they obviously have been working on the new Destiny franchise for a while...

Oh, whole expansion packs, I thought we were talking about small poopy things like map packs.

Well the, I'm a little happier now.

Yeah, Reach teaser was released after the ODST demo at E3 2009, so I would guess that a short teaser will be announced either at E3 (June) or the VGA's (December).

I'll take a stab and guess E3, and when the announcement is made, the new Bungie.net will be launched!

ODST was teased at E3 2008, released in 2009. Reach was teased in 2009, released in 2010. Destiny - Released end of 2013, that means we should expect a tease in the next 2 months or so. The cycles are fairly easy to predict :)

I'm not getting drawn into Activision being the devil and all that kind of noise. DLC is rampant in teh current video game landscape. You either embrace that or quit playing.

As for Bungie taking their time, I'm gonna remain confident in their ability to deliver. They have grown a lot and have a pretty large staff. They will have many irons in the fire. I'm sure any DLC for 2014 s already at least partially in the works. It's at least in the concept stage.

I agree with Duardo, I say E3 announcement with a new Bungie.net launch soon after.

I think this makes sense why Bungie is dark now. They're expected to be making games on a 2 yr cycle. So why not get the jumpstart on the games now, so they don't have to cram it into 2 yrs. Just a thought.

I don't think the quality will be bad, they just won't have as much down time, and room to have as much fun as they usually do. :P

That is what they have most likely been doing since 2007.

Your theory at least stands true for Microsoft published games. For example Halo 4: E3 2011, releasing in fall 2012. We don't know how Bungie is going to play it out without Microsoft. There is a great chance your right, but still a chance they wait till July 7th or even PAX.

I think I mixed my dates up a bit. I always thought Bungie doesn't reveal any big information until about half a year/year before the release. I meant that I was thinking we wouldn't get information until the holiday season.

Plus, Expansion Packs could be a fancy way to say Map Packs.

I guess, but I feel like I just stumbled upon all of Santa's presents 2 weeks before Christmas.
