Wow, that's a ton of information.
Maybe I'm behind on some news, but that basically gives us release dates for the XBOX 720 and PS4, does it not?
I'm pretty happy about all this! The Marathon piece was a surprise, too. For what it's worth, I think that Bungie probably isn't too happy. I'm sure this news will still get its proper moment, though, and give fans a lot of nice surprise.

-Four expansion packs which are targeting for a 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020 release.
-There will be other DLC, subscriptions, microtransactions, and value added services.
Four games. Ok
Four expansion packs. Um...what?
Subscriptions? Unless it's something like Bungie Pro, then ew. Ew. EWWWW.
Microtransactions? EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Value added services? More ways to get money? EW EW EW EW EW EWWWWW.
I really hate Activision. They, along with EA, need to be purged from this world.
Bungie has already offered DLC and value-added subscription services in past games. The days of the Halo 2 map price plans are long gone. This is the way the industry works now, and we have no reason to believe that this is a malicious or unethical plan, especially if (like you said) the services are fairly unobtrusive like Bungie Pro was.

Is it me, or did anyone else kinda get the feeling from that article that Bungie gave up its independence again..
The contract also gives Bungie the freedom to put five percent of its staff to work on a prototype for a new game referred to as "Marathon," with the team size allowed to grow after certain operating income. There are also rules governing how much of the company's staff can work on Bungie.Net, Halo Reach DLC and other projects.
You know what this sounds like? Bioware and ME3. We all know how that turned out. I agree with you. That statement sounds like Bungie will just be told what to do and will deliver the typical half-ass game because of what Activision dictates.
It seems pretty standard to me. The publisher has a deal with Bungie for the Destiny games, and as such, they want to ensure that Bungie is working diligently on them with the right people. They aren't controlling Bungie. Bungie agreed to this and I'm sure there wasn't a lot of disputing with that particular part of the agreement. I know it's easy to jump on the "I hate Activision" bandwagon, but in reality you don't have to rail on them just because they're making a standard business decision.
