2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

I just feel that every other year is too quick. That it's not really Bungie.

Also, I wasn't really saying that the quality would go down, just look at ODST, it was one of my favorites and was made in what, one year?

Bungie gets another $2.5 million if the first Destiny game achieves a score of 90 or better out of 100 on GameRankings.com, a site that summarizes reviews by game critics.
Don't know what to think about this.

I can honestly tell you I never heard of gamerankings.com until today.

I haven't either lol :)

However, Halo Reach got a 90+ so I'm hoping that Destiny 1 will also get it, because more money for Bungie = better quality games.

Hell I'd even be happy if they got more snacks.

If they make a 150 edition, it be the first one I ever bought.

I'd buy it if they made a $200 edition.

Am I the only one thinking a bungie MMO might be a little sketchy? If they have a rewards system like the one in Reach, it might get old quickly.

Maybe Reach's system was a test-drive...?

It only takes a simple question to change everything.

I'm not upset about the two year development cycle. Bungie is much bigger than they were five years ago, so that should help make up for the lack of a year. It also means more games for us to play in a shorter period of time.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I have faith, knowing Bungie this isn't going to be your average MMO.

Two year development cycles? You gotta be joking me...

Not uncommon, plus they've been working on this since like, 2007?

I'm talking about the franchise as a whole. Every franchise usually works extra on their first title, I would assume.

One does not choose a destiny, his destiny is bestowed, shaped and formed, from the soul.

Reads that you supposedly would have to pay subscription

Ahh, if this is true then I will not be buying this game at all. Not worth buying the game and then paying to play it. I will lose respect if this is true

As spawn mentioned, the news has spread to several other sites. Locking this would do more to upset the community than it would to quell the rumor-mill.

Although mixed feelings do spawn from the onus of this thread... It is good to finally have something of worth to discuss once again!

Once again Bungie has met our expectations with flying colours, why am I not surprised?

Also, your avatar is looking mightily sexy with your mythic title bar.

Interesting that regionalisation of the game is bungie's responsibility. That's always been the publisher's job in the past.

It's also pretty -blam!- ludicrous that your "philanthropic initiatives" are a contractual obligation.

Assuming its real info I am surprised they will do a game every other year, but Bungie is a huge company now, it's not like they lack man power or experience to get it done.

This. With the amount of man power Bungie has, it's understandable that a game will be released every other year. Hell, Halo 3, ODST, and Reach were all released in the span of three years, so I have no problem with this.

Fantastic point.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Bungie, please don't rush your games. So if 2 years is enough time, then so be it. But I'm excited for the series to begin!

I'm fully confident in Bungie's ability to produce a game with the time span the contract states. Like a lot of others have said already, if they didn't believe they could do it they wouldn't have accepted the terms. They're going to make a kick-ass game. Why? Because they're Bungie.
