Microsoft screwed up the ODST release but Bungie still came through in the end.
We don't know squat. The surprise is still there.

I'm really sad to see things happen this way. Bungie's always had such a magical way of revealing tidbits and keeping us guessing, and while this won't deter them from making a fantastic game, it might put a little damper on the party.
Still, Four games in eight years, with interim years seeing DLC is something that I think I can really get behind. You're kidding yourself if you think other companies haven't set these kinds of schedules behind the developer's curtains, and they aren't a bad thing. They're a framework of goals to work to achieve.
The only thing that actually rings out to me as bad news in this is the strained development team working on the tentatively titled "Marathon" project. It seems like the development of the project is too dependent on the success of Destiny, and it will be a long time before we actually see it, and if we do, it won't be with the same strength that Destiny is seeing.
And while it seems hard to believe that they'd revisit an old and cherished franchise, I'd certainly welcome it.
See you starside, Bungie, but I'll be paying close attention until then.
