I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

I don't understand why some people are freakig out about the 2 year dev cycle. Bungie is much larger than they were when they released Halo 3. Hell they're probably a good amount larger than when they released Reach.

DLC as referred to as Comet(?), one year after a major title release. So what? That isn't a big deal at all.

All contracts have "limiting factors". Bungie wouldn't go into something if they new they couldn't succeed.

Also with I propose that Marcus L is working on the Marathon side project.

I have full faith in Bungie. Can't wait to play their game in 2013.

I'm the artist/writer for Sure to be Ban'd (www.suretobebanned.com) and the colorist/editor for Trunks and Soto (www.trunksandsoto.com). Both classy webcomics, check 'em out.

I'm really sad to see things happen this way. Bungie's always had such a magical way of revealing tidbits and keeping us guessing, and while this won't deter them from making a fantastic game, it might put a little damper on the party.

Still, Four games in eight years, with interim years seeing DLC is something that I think I can really get behind. You're kidding yourself if you think other companies haven't set these kinds of schedules behind the developer's curtains, and they aren't a bad thing. They're a framework of goals to work to achieve.

The only thing that actually rings out to me as bad news in this is the strained development team working on the tentatively titled "Marathon" project. It seems like the development of the project is too dependent on the success of Destiny, and it will be a long time before we actually see it, and if we do, it won't be with the same strength that Destiny is seeing.

And while it seems hard to believe that they'd revisit an old and cherished franchise, I'd certainly welcome it.

See you starside, Bungie, but I'll be paying close attention until then.

There's so much to digest in this thread. And honestly, I'm not liking some of it.

I guess the thing that bothers me is exactly how much control Activision has over Bungie. With an every-other year release, I sure hope Bungie can maintain itself.

Definitely sad to see information spill like this.

Microsoft screwed up the ODST release but Bungie still came through in the end.

We don't know squat. The surprise is still there.

-The game(s) will be rated Teen/PEGI 16.

Aw damn. That's depressing. No curse words, not a lot of gore, and not a lot of guns... so depressing.

That's not true.

The contract says the games will be "aimed" at the Teen rating, but they could very well end up Mature.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

Like I said earlier, Reach was rated PEGI-16.

Nope. I tried to tell the OP this. The contract says that Bungie will "work with Activision" to make it Teen/PEGI16 but Bungie is allowed to make it M and it's not a breach of contract.

lol. They're already planning FOUR games before we even know what the first one is. A trilogy and a prequel, I assume.

This could be the greatest game of all time but if it has monthly fees, I ain't playing it. However, if this is some kind of epic RPG like Skyrim/Mass Effect, I will squeal like a little girl

I imagine that if their new series is coming out next year that they will start discussing it sometime between November-January. Leaning towards January since Reach details started coming out then.
The teaser trailer came out at 2009's E3. Released Fall 2010.

So, if they follow the path of Reach, we should see a teaser at this year's E3.

I'm going to say now, that my predictions of release date, were correct.

Unless you have read Bungie's mind, we still don't know with certain, what all that means until Bungie talks about it.

Destiny and Comet rotate yearly.
That's a release every year.

It's not just any DLC, it's Activision DLC
