It's really unfortunate if true that they are only allowed to devote 5% of their staff to a marathon related project. I'm sure many of us would love to see another marathon title released, and at this rate it could be almost another decade before something like that is feasible.
After reading the article, that is what I'm aggravated about as well, because Activision is forcing them to only devote 5% of their staff on a new marathon related project. So my question is, why would they accept the deal with Activision when they are putting restrictions like this in place. There were so many other options for Bungie at the time, like the EA partners program or sign some kind of deal with someone else, I feel like they gave up a little bit of their freedom with this deal.
5% is still an ok amount of people with the size that Bungie is. Also as they reach certain profit milestones they can devote more people (10%, 25%) to the project as well. Your hatred for Activision slightly clouds you judgement as almost any company would make this kind of restriction on this big a deal. No one would want the dev putting more effort into a different IP then the one they are making for them.
