First off they are making another Marathon game which I always thought they were against in the first place (beating a dead horse).
"We make games we want to play."

Maybe they want to play a little more Marathon?

Bungie is very well becoming the new Bioware of Activision. First off they are making another Marathon game which I always thought they were against in the first place (beating a dead horse). Now an MMO? You seen what happened to SWTOR its just history repeating itself. This whole contract thing seems very sketchy and harmful to them. I hope they can get through this but it just seems like an uphill battle. Tread carefully guys.

I love how you act like you know exactly what Bungie is working on. If you are basing this on that leak from yesterday, you are insane. There are no game details in there besides what we know of four total games, four major DLC and a genre.

That's what I'm saying, dude; It's not like Bungie to have 2 year development cycles.

Tin shacks and catfish bones.

Yes, they are digging their own grave. I mean, C'MON! They're making a new game! I would've never guessed it. And the game is going to have DLC! WOW! I'm shocked. This is the end of Bungie, for sure...

Well, this isn't exactly a confirmation, but Bungie did basically credit this leak by announcing their release date for 2013 shortly after that leak was publicized.

We'll just have to stay tuned.

I know, it's totally the end of the world that Bungie is now bigger and can have faster game turnaround. I blame Activision, personally.

The FPSMMO part isn't bad...
Never said it was First Person!

Yes they did.
You're wrong.

OT: Call of Duty is technically massively multiplayer. Your argument is invalid.

The FPSMMO part isn't bad... It's the way they're planning on taking every ounce of money out of you that's bad. How in the hell do they think they'll get away with selling it for retail with subscriptions (2 if you count "special services"), micro-transactions, and an expansion every alternating year. I'm sorry Bungie but I'm not a mindless sheep. I find it offensive that you'd sign a contract that treats me as so...

I think the next thing Bungie should release is a Bungie-rumor-specific version of the good ol' Jump to Conclusions Mat.
There's no jumping to conclusions with this. We got a fully detailed 10 year plan from Activision/Bungie in the form of a legally binding contract. There's no "jumping to conclusions" with that. At this point you're just blindly denying it.

Yes, a legally binding contract that due to protection of Bungie's Intellectual Property Rights, was released in some of the most obscure language that they could put on paper while still proving to the court that the Bungie/Activision partnership was in no way a threat to Infinity Ward/whoever those two yahoos are that's suing Activi$ion.

Bungie develops a new Sci-fantasy FPS with certain elements of MMO's in it's design, Activision is just the publisher whilst Bungie keeps all/sole rights to the I.P. (meaning once this 10 years is done, Bungie still gets paid for their games. ;))

But it's the obscurity of the language in the court document that is causing to bunny-hop around in their conclusions and to speculate with wild, hedonistic abandon.

Blame it on the courts. lol

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here...We should all still be very excited for what Bungie has in store for us.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Bioware is a fantastic developer. Even if what you're saying is true I don't see how it's a bad thing.

It described Destiny as MMO-like in the Contract.

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

5% of the Bungie team is working on Marathon, while the rest is on Destiny, it's not like a huge investment. Plus Destiny is not out yet, and we might be witnessing just the tip of the iceberg here.

We have no footage or any exclusive info about anything from Bungie yet, not gameplay or anything. You're just jumping to conclusions.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Whatever Bungie creates and puts on the shelf is exactly what they came up with and worked on based on their own visions. They aren't making what Activision tells them to make.

And just because one MMO doesn't work out, that doesn't mean another will fail as well. Maybe SWTOR and MMO simply didn't work out, but Bungie isn't working on SWTOR II, they are working on Destiny.

They wouldn't be spending so much time and money to give us a product unless they saw it as a Game of the Year-caliber game. They wouldn't have signed a contract with Activision if they couldn't make what they wanted to make.

Well, you need to realize that this contract was sign and dated nearly exactly 2 years ago.

A lot can change in 2 years.

Your point? We didn't know anything prior to the "leaks." Now that we have some information saying Bungie is on track to make 5 games and bag large amounts of money makes you feel bad just because it's a two year old contract?

Lol, what? When did I say any of your assumptions? I'm just saying the contract is two years old.

A lot can change in two years. There might be a whole dedicated team working of 50% of the people at Bungie working on the Marathon title now, or there may like 5 people working on it. Who knows what Bungie's primary project is.
