I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Both companies, Bungie and Activision were in a legally binding contract. The contract likely had pros, cons, and "no no" areas. One of these "no no" areas has to be that Activison can't release anything by Bungie without Bungies approval. Bungies new game is their IP. Don't they have control over this stuff?

Bungie has to be angry about this also, I doubt they'll do anything drastic, but they should do something about it. Doesn't have to be public, it just needs to happen.

Does anyone agree with me?

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

It was called into evidence for a legal case, while Bungie can be angry about it, there's nothing that they could have done to prevent it. -blam!- happens, they'll roll with it and make the best of it.

Can't be too careful with your company. I can feel the devil walking next to me.

From what I've read it was part of the legal suit with the two Infinity Ward former-execs and Activision. Right now there's nothing that either party can really do except say, "It sucks to have it happen this way."

If there are any repercussions, we likely won't ever hear about it. All this legal stuff and Publisher Developer agreements should stay between the Publisher and Developer.

No clue, but Bungie will probably not post in any topic regarding the leak out of dry hopes that we will forget about it.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

The law required it to be shown in court as evidence. There's nothing either parties could do about it.

To prove that Bungie's project was not interfering with Activision's work on something or other, if I'm not mistaken.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Sorry for my ignorance. I'm not a law and justice guy, but what "forced" Activision/Bungie into this?

There was a lawsuit with Infinity Ward and Acti and they were made to present the contract as evidence on some grounds of something or other.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

They could start a riot and "take care" of activision. Parachute jerome into their heart with a hammer. GAME OVER for them.

While I am not familiar with American legal proceedings I am going to assume it is similar to the Canadian system.

Here in Canada the Crown has to submit all the evidence to the Defense to build a case around. Seeing as courts are not secretive affairs this evidence will have to be presented in court. Anyone in attendance gets to hear/see all the evidence. If the former Infinity Ward executives called the contract between Bungie and Activision as evidence it has to be presented or the Defense will be charged with Obstruction of Justice (I believe that is the charge). My point is there is nothing either party could do to keep this document secret once called into the case.

Exactly. It's like dodging jury duty or refusing to pleading the fifth once you've agreed to a plea bargain.

You just can't do it and there's nothing you can do about it without facing repercussions.

It's similar

Once they call on some evidence or a legally binding contract to be used as evidence they have to show it or else it'll just delay the court while a supeona for the document is worked out.

But let's be honest here, this was not the Niagra Falls of leaks here. We don't even have the real name of the game, just a vague genre and how many installments they'll have

I figured as such. Canadians like to copy what the American way of doing things.

I agree. It's not like anything concerning the game was released with this contract, just some legal proceedings between two companies.

Not only Bungie, but MS and Sony for an estimated time for their new consoles to appear.

Im not too sure. The case between Activision and Infinity Ward is over royalties and bonuses which were allegedly not paid to the developers, these sort of things would be covered in their contract.
I imagine they wanted to see the Bungie/Activision contract too to see another example of how Activision go about creating their contracts.
