1: They are tall.
2: They are hunched over while aiming. Grunts don't often do that.
3: That gun does not look grunt-worthy. Grunts are given the worst of the worst, not all the new, cool stuff!

So, you ask what I think these models are? They are Brutes.

1: Brutes are that tall.
2: Brutes hunch over all the time.
3: Brutes have separated from the Covenant we know; we have never seen any of their technology, except for the Brute PR, Brute Shot, and an exterior shot of their capital ships. The backpack may be shields, it may be life-support, etc. Plus, the new guns look like it would belong to Brutes!

The arms are also the most telling, since they can clearly be seen from where the video shows them from. Grunts also have stubby, single arms that don't bend in the middle. Brutes have the buff-version of a humanoid build; two sections to the arm that bend in the middle. Check the models, and the video side-by-side.

-Its a MG42!
-My favorite color is bubble shield

considering, if you use it in the right situations the right way, the plasma pistol is the strongest weapon in the game, i guess you are kind of wrong.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Look at the head. It looks like it has one massive eye.

by seperated i think he refers to the fact that they are more indipendent and carried over much of thier inferior non plasma weaponry where as everyother soldier in the covie army has standard issue plasma rifle or needler etc the brutes have their own stash of brute shots, their own plasma rifle type, and who knows what else as he implies.

I said "the Covenant we know". As in, as we know it. We only really know what the Elites/Sangheili have, their weapons, equipment, etc. etc. The ships we have been on have all belonged to the Elites. That is the Covenant as we know it. Since the Brutes are now the Covenant, they probably stepped things up, and started having better frontline (or even elite) soldiers to compensate.

My guess is they're Brutes. I'm proving they aren't grunts. Another piece of evidence that can clearly be seen. Check the arms.

The grunt's upper arm is very slim, which is completely different than the model's. The model's has two fat sections; a lower arm and upper. The Grunt only has a stick and then a fat, straight arm. The Brute's arm fits completely; only the hair is missing. My guess is the hair is last and hasn't been added yet. The build of the model fits (for a Brute, NOT a Grunt).

that "new alien" looks like a drone with armor on just look at the stance and arms plus that thing on its back looks more like an opening for its wings than a jetpack
Besides all the other covies have armor why not drones?

It was never in a cinematic. Last level: The Great Journey. When the Dropship is firing at you (when you're in the Spectre/Wraith), check the background; a ship like we have never seen before is shown in the background plate.

Later, Half-Jaw states something along the lines "We will take that cruiser back (from the Brutes)". It isn't directly stated that it is for Brutes, but it is pretty obvious.

Or he could have raised his arm, and the lower arm is very big, and than it would hide his upper arm, and you could be rong.

I agree with you man, this is what I posted on another thread:

I think that picture to character render looks like a Brute that hasnt been fully rendered yet, wearing some sort of jet pack, cause as for graphics wise, that character wearing the armored stuff looks worse then Halo 2 graphics, so I think whatever it is, its not completely rendered or even close to being finished... thats my 2 cents

I haven't seen the trailer but it sounds like an enemy from Marathon. (I think it was called the Drinniol or something like that)

Grunts do not bend their arms. The Character Model in the trailer has a bent arm, showing the two sections I was talking about; the lower arm and upper arm. Grunts only have arm, and never can bend it.

Compare these pictures (and the trailer paused) side-by-side. It is very telling.

Thank you. I forgot to mention that, and I half-forgot to think about it. Thanks for your agreement and your post.
