Subject: Did you think those shoulder pieces of the armor were thrusters?

Poll: Did you think those shoulder pieces of the armor were thrusters?  [closed]
Yes, before halo 4 I always viewed them as such.:  44%

No.:  56%

I'm merely curious, since I've been hearing this "You can see them in halo 2/3, therefore the thrusters have always been there." despite you know... zero evidence they were ever considered thrusters at that point.

So, how many people, honestly, before halo 4, looked at those things and went "Those must be zero-g thrusters!"

  • 05.24.2012 4:45 AM PDT

Why isn't there a simple yes?

  • 05.24.2012 5:02 AM PDT

Because the question is "Before halo 4." I'm sure many would come and go "Of course they are!" just cause the teaser trailer.

If I could edit the choices, I would change it to "yes, before halo 4." instead of always. But still, I'm moreso just wondering how many viewed those pieces as thrusters before Halo 4 was even thought up.

Pretty sure it was stated in the books that the armor had them. Kurt had one in the books.

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

Yes. Because it states so within the books.

The sarcasm is strong in this one.

I'm not being sarcastic. They look like air intakes with filters so I assumed they were air scrubbers.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

I always thought that they had some kind of use, not initially thrusters but after reading Ghosts of Onyx I thought that they could be built in ones upgraded from the T-Pack that Kurt wears.

In answer to your question, yes.

No, it's where Nuclear battery that powered up the MJOLNIR was placed, I remember Dr. Halsey mentioned this in The fall of Reach.

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

It never occurred to me, although I was aware that the Spartans had these thrusters anyway.

Fusion Reactor:
The fusion reactor is the most essential part of the MJOLNIR system, as it provides power to all equipment on the MJOLNIR armor - the reactor is built into the suit and allows for nearly unlimited movement. The fusion reactor in all versions of the MJOLNIR armor are half the size of a normal fusion pack that conventional marines carry around.

Never says anything about where it's located.

You sure that was for the Mark VI, not the Mark V?

It cant have been the 6, she never gave in an intro for the 6, only 4 and 5.

And to that, definitely not in Fall of Reach. Mk V didn't even have the thrusters on it, that was exclusive to the 6, which we know the least about.

Still curious where bar Halo 4 it says that.

I think she said it before, I don't remember if in her journal or in First strike. Plus it's the only area available, I don't think would be in their forarms or helmets, the obvious answer is in the back that looks like small backpack.

I honestly thought it was Fall of Reach but I just looked it up and it isn't. But they also never said that it wasn't, and no indication was ever given that it didn't have one.

So I don't see what the deal is.
