Basically what the title says. It could be through a link that we click on, and then it shows us our trust rating, or maybe it could be on our profile page, where only that user and the mods and admins can see it (like the ban history thing).

So, yay or nay?

No I prefer it remain a mystery.

Questions lead to learning, learning leads to kowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, understanding leads to peace.

No. Then people will be able to find out the mechanics as to what makes it go up or down and start spamming them to raise their forum title.

No, it's supposed to be secret.

He'd have instantly stopped and knelt down, one fist on the ground, hoping to be impervious to the officer's attacks. When this would have failed and he's in the back of the police car, he'd blame his predicament on his friends for not being team players.
Bungie's new game: Particle

No. The trust rating is an invisible force of nature, like gravity, or the wind, or my pants.

  • 05.25.2012 8:47 AM PDT

I'm gonna say no on this one. It's pretty much guaranteed that it will usher in an age of topics saying that it's not fair and things should be worth more/less trust points.

  • 05.25.2012 8:47 AM PDT

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

But it has such a sexy, mysterious quality to it. Why ruin it?

Seriously though, what purpose would it serve to know your trust rating other than to finally learn how to manipulate it?

Bye.

I can see the "Post your Trust Rating" threads already. Then the community could make rough estimates as to how many trust points you need to get you a specific title.

I think it's better just the webteam knowing.

It would be interesting to know, but I could live without it.

The system should always stay enshrouded in mystery, that's the fun of it all.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

I want to be able to see my post count.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Yes, but then I realized people would spam it to become mythics.

If they let us see our own, We're (Not all of us, But definitely some of us) going to post about it and let people see how great we are.

If users could view their own trust rating, they would be able to see what actions affect it. It's pointless to have a trust rating if users start gaming the system.

Acceptable response achieved, was hoping it would have came off a bit more creepier though.

Cryptic has it right. The webteam doesn't want people to start attempting to find out what actions affect your trust rating and by how many points, etc. They want users to play nice and have a good time here, not be worried about what their trust rating is.

No. I think it's better off that we don't know it. If we were able to see it, people would just either:

-try to boost it up
-turn it into an elitism thing
-turn into a "title" thing where people keep making threads about how to increase it

If it stays how it is now, we can avoid all of that.
