Then we would know exactly what affects it, so the system becomes a bit more... well, more pointless.

Why would the moderators want to see it?

It's nice to be surprised, but it's nice to see where you're at. I don't know, I feel like being able to view trust rating might distract users from the point of base titles (fun, good behavior, &c).

Trust ratings are already visible in their most appropriate manifestations. What you are asking is to make the raw data explicitly visible, which I could never see as being a good thing. The title system already generates too much trouble as it is.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

I'm sure it would only bother me.

What trust rating??

  • 05.25.2012 11:17 AM PDT

The reason that we are kept in the dark about so many of our Bungie.net "stats", such as trust rating, and post count, is to prevent people from gaming the forums.

Bungie.net is intended to be a place for quality discussion. If we would like to maintain this goal, the aforementioned stats need to remain hidden.

I don't think this is true though? We can see our member titles and don't really have that much of an understanding of them other than join date, post count, don't get banned, etc.

In a way you can see your trust rating. *Looks at tittle bar* That pretty much shows you, where you are at. And I'm going to have to go with no, I don't care to know where my trust rating is.

I understand a modern house these days needs a sewage system, electricity, a good foundation, some good 'ol pillars to keep it up. But that doesn't mean I can build a house. If I knew all the details, then it's different. Details matter.

No. Then people will be able to find out the mechanics as to what makes it go up or down and start spamming them to raise their forum title.

I'll go ahead and reveal the secret of the mechanics myself. Don't be a jerk, don't get banned.

I don't see the point at looking into it. I'd imagine that's what your title is for.
