Do you like Yax? I do.

Then we can brag about having a higher (or lower) trust rating. It would be nice to have something other than titles to determine the value of specific members.

We should know better, because we are better.

I think Achronos said that your trust rating is useless by itself as it has to go through some formulas to determine titles and such. I think it was in the title thread. Out of curiosity, I wonder who has the highest rating on the site (that is not Bungie or a Ninja).

No. Then people will be able to find out the mechanics as to what makes it go up or down and start spamming them to raise their forum title.

yea basically. people would basically cheat the system.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

All you kids are crazy! Why on earthwould you say no!? It's like aving the gift of knowing when and where you would die? Now who wouldn't want that?
OT: sure, why not?

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

No. The trust rating is an invisible force of nature, like gravity, or the wind, or my pants.
2/3 of those aren't forces of nature. ;)

Eh, people would (and will) find loopholes around it.

How would they find loopholes around it? It's not a rule.

Rules and laws have loopholes. Numbers don't.

EDIT: May make no sense. Typed this thinking both TPs were positive.

Hmm, two members, each from '09 and '10.

The '09 had nearly 20,000 TP, but is yet a member. Must have been recently banned, and is temporarily halted on earning trust point and/or receiving a title.

The '10 has about 1,500 TP, and is a normal member. Either join dates effects your TP that savagely, or this is one very, very bad boy.

_

I would like to know the OPs latest ban date, because if he hasn't been recently banned, he shouldn't be halted, thus, him not having a title at 19,000 TP could give us a hint at the TPs average value. Possibly 20,000 for Heroic?

For all I know, there could be more to it than TP.

_

On topic: No, the point of the trust system is to see how good we are based on integrity (from my point of view). Seeing you rating will only make you "act".

You're talking about ctjl96 and TWG. Both of whom have been banned quite a bit.

I think that you're overthinking this. They have negative trust ratings because of their greater-than-average ban number.

One: Wasn't he referring to the OP (TopWarGamer) and ctjl96?

Two: Damn, I didn't notice that was negative... well that SUCKS!

Oops. Sorry, kenneth. I seem to have made a mistake. You're right. But even then, from what I know, ctjl has been banned a few times himself. And yeah, I think Achronos said one time that you get something like minus 10,000 pink t-points with every ban.

Okay, it was a pretty simple thought (for me at least). Also, why not look into things? In no way did I look "too much" into anything. If I looked into it less, then what what I have to work with?

Without looking into things, how would anything progress? Go tell every scientist on the planet how nerdy they are for looking "too much into things". At least have logic behind your remarks.

Recon, I like how you are thinking critically.

Also, just to point out something here, ctjil used to have -72 trust point when Urk first screencap his post. Now he has somewhere -1000 trust point after today. Try to investigated from there on how the trust point works.

I would only assume that each post would count as +1 points, a ban would be -1000 points, and a warning would be roughly -500 points.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

That last sentence may start a famous Elmicker debate.

On topic: A trust rating becomes illegitimate once you know what it is. Now, maybe seeing your trust rating could work, but it shouldn't fluctuate everyday. If we could see our trust rating, which I'd prefer not to, I would at least want it to be updated on a monthly basis. But even that doesn't seem too appealing. It probably should stay the way it is, but it doesn't hurt to be creative.

For years now its been a mystery, being able to see the system that throws a wrench into peoples rating will be fortold.

With two proven evidences, we were able to get the idea of how the system works, but it just not enough. We still don't know the variable about the user titles at all. It could be 1000, it could be 10,000, heck it could be up to 100,000.
