If I blew 450 bucks to get Halo, a new PC, and a copy of Vista Ultimate,

and I put in the Halo 2 CD and it does not work, I'd first go exchange it for a different copy, then I would start on a rampage on how some hacker must have activated my copy of Halo when he was making illegal cd keys (ya, you know they'll have Activation in it :P )

Anyways, then I'll probably reinstall it another 5,000 times and finally get it to load in some kind of safe mode, it'll suck really bad, but I'll at least be able to play it. I'll then get it to work normally, but it will run at 5 FPS on lowest details.... I will then take the disc and
1.) Play frisbee with my dog (Guess whats the frisbee, no its not my detachable arm)

2.) Take the disc and put it in the fire

3.) Take the disc and put it in my malfunctioning DVD player so that the laser beams shoot out all over the room and I become super man, use my powers for evil, steal a new super-proto-type computer and new super-prototype-operating system from IBM and Microsoft seperately
Then be able to play Halo, as well as hack into every database in the world...

4.) Put the disc in my old CD-drive with a broken latch and aim for precise coordinates (Out of total chance) that will fly through a window at the Apple Inc. Building and slice the Main Bus on the new Apple G6 (Such a creative name), therefore causing steve jobs to rip out his remaining hair because it was the only prototype of the G6 that did not explode, or was stolen by microsoft, and he now has to make a completely new computer based off an old computer, again.

5.) Break the disc in two pieces and aim them at Apple (therefore doing the above) and ALSO at microsoft causing it to clock Bill Gates monitor while hes working on programming Windows Black Comb (yes Bill, I know you're next plans are to bring back black comb, in your face)

Making Bill gates go incredibly Emo/Evilistic on his building, he will then close down microsoft and Bungie will stop development on Halo 3 for the XBOX and put it directly on the PC instead...

6.)Take the CD and throw it in the nearest pot of boiling radioactive goo I find

or last but not least

7.) Write the word antidisestablishmentarianism on the CD in sharpie, put it in, pray it works, take it out (because now its ruined and really won't work) and throw it on an angle-grinder type thing, causing it to spin at major speeds and eventually shatter in a billion pieces

That's what I'll do if it doesn't work, so Bungie, Bill, this is your fair warning to put it through 9 beta stages :)

All of this is in good fun, I'd probably opt for the one that includes me playing frisbee with my dog if it didn't work :|

No I do not have a detachable arm

God I hope this doesn't exceed the character limit

No i think minimum required is 512. 1GB is recommended, but may be required for AeroGlass.

I hope my PC will be able to run H2PC.

Vista's going to be cool. I just hope for the people that can't handle the shiny, graphically-enhanced theme will be given the option to use the Windows XP theme instead.

And I have the minimum requirement (1 GHz) of RAM to support Vista.

My upgrade advisor says I need to upgrade to 512mb of Ram, and I selected Aero Glass as part of it.
So 512 is minimum with aero glass

hey kim, waz ur specks?? If they are anything like mine than it will be able to run Vista but not shure about H2PC (at least well). Mine are....

NForce 3 Ultra Motherboard (made by EPox)
80 gig of hard disk space (it said i needed to free up five more for vista.)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Radeon ALL IN WONDER 156 Mb. of memory
1 GIG of Random Access Memory
CDR+ CDR- burner
DVD/CD drive

thats about all. I have a pretty good onboard sound system and a bigger-than-average monotor. I ran the Vista thingy for evaluating ur system and it said that all i needed was to free up 5 gig of space (just several small video files that i need to kill............ok they are dead).

But that still doesnt mean that u can play H2PC on it. The real thing that will get me is the video card. My thought is that i will have to buy a new computer to be able to play H2 on it cuz i dont have a PCI E slot on this one. Which is about the only thing that will be able to handle H2. But that isnt all bad...........especially if u only have to pay for half . Parents arent that bad after all ;)

My laptop passed the test, all except for Aero (expected due to a built in 64mb graphics card) and its only a 1.6 intel.

My excuse for an inte processor is that it was a price mistake, £200 less than it should have been.

Speaking of which, my lappy's also ready for Vista...I made sure of that on purchase.

Compaq Presario v2000 notebook PC
AMD Turion 64-Mobile @ 1.7 (actual speed @ 2.2)
Mobility ATI Radeon Xpress 200
512 RAM

I've got an Intel Pentium IV with 3.20 GHz, 1 Gigabyte of RAM (:P to me15ter), and a GeForce 6600 AGP. I need to upgrade my card and get PCI-E and I think I'd be able to handle H2PC.

I would be VERY angry. That's why I'm waiting for 6 months, maybe even more.

Luckily, after I make a little bit of room on my harddrive, I'll be able to run Vista, so, I'm good. Now, I'm just worried about Halo 2 PC's requirements.

I could run Vista, though some apps would run noticably slower because of the requirements. I meet them all, but I'm nervous about the one gig RAM, because that's EXACTLY what I have. Two games I have my eyes on: Halo 2 and Fight Simulator X.

So, if you upgrade to Vista, you can't play games made for XP?

No more Halo PC???

wait a sec man.......if have read anything on Vista than it would have told u that everything is backwards-compatible on Vista. Just like u have to run XP in win 95 mode to play some old games Vista will do the same thing. U will be able to play all of ur old games on there (as long is it isnt win 3.1 games or maybe 95 games) and they will run fine. In fact they may run better than before (but not verry likely since they will be virtually be running on XP) So, dont jump to conclusions. u will be able to play H1 on there.

H2PC doesn't work, or it sucks?

Ok, imagine this if you will, you just spend a crapload of $$$ upgrading your machine to Vista to play Halo2PC. You put in the CD, and it doesn't work, either because of a Vista bug, or a bad port. But if you're lucky enough to figure your way around it, and the game just blows. What would you do?

Me, I'd melt down the Halo2 box/CD/Manual into a little flaming ball of molten plastic, tie it to a brick and throw it through Bungies office window.

But, I really really hope Halo2PC rocks.

* sigh * its called :

* Become a partner member of microsoft and they'll give you vista upgrading disk for free..... *

ok seriously, can we please get realistic here for maybe 10 seconds, why the heck would any game company release a game that is so anticipated by many that wouldn't work. seriously come on. and beta versions of vista are out and have been out for a long time, get with it/get one. And yes i will be buying vista when it comes out.. not just for halo but so i can be up-to-date with computer technology.

and also why wait till they come out with an updated version of vista? Is there no such thing of windows update?- answer- yes there is.

the point is that we want to wait till they do come out with the update so that we wont get hacked in the first 3 months that we have it. Those guys out there are waiting for it to come out cuz........lets all face it. WINDOWS IS **** FOR SECURITY!!! Ya i know that Vista has "better" security than XP does. They said that with Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, and XP. The point is that those "betters" are (usually) marginal and havnt made alot of difference. We want to see if Vista is "all its cracked up to be" before we buy it.

Also no need to get up-tight. This is a fourm where everybodies opinion counts.

Nobody's flaming here.

Vista will be backwards-compatible, but you won't have to use a system similar to the "DOSbox" to run XP games like you did with Windows 95 games.

yeah i'm sure flaming, cause i guess if everyone's opinion counts mine doesn't. And once again, let's get practical... Who here has ever been hacked (not by a friend as a joke or someone you know)-- some random hacker, i'm sure maybe like 3 people on this board at most

dude come on. Everyones opinion counts.......including yours. You dont have to start getting defensive. Other people will do as they please including me. We dont need to critisize other peoples opinion. And i am not critisizing your opinion. But we all know that windows security is -blam-.
