I thought it was already unfair to give a jackpot deduction for quitting...
But they temporarily ban you too?
Players not being able to quit are the developers fault not the players.
Bungie/343 shouldn't punish gamers for not knowing how to program in and out matches like Call of Duty did.

Now instead of players quitting, they're going to be away from the controller. I'd much rather have a team of 3, instead of a team of 3 players and an unmovable dummy.

What do you guys think?

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

Well every time you quit, you ruin both the chances of winning for your team and the fun for the entire game and it takes an incredibly big quitting habit to get banned. Sooooo... you deserved it.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

Well that's exactly my point.... They should make it so quitting isn't a big deal... like COD
Btw, don't assume I was banned...because I never was..

Halo isn't about drop in drop out gameplay. I love it that way. Sometimes you just have to quit. That's okay. You won't get in much trouble for quitting once in a while. Heck I do it. I've never seen any form of punishment for quitting once in a while. To get quit banned, to my understanding, it has to be pretty habitual. I don't see why you can't get punished for it.. It's frustrating to have players quit and it's even more dumb when they go AFK. The player has to come back to their xbox to log off after the match so they obviously aren't too busy to just finish.. A quit ban seems like such a petty thing to complain about when it is well justified.

Where there is a quit ban complaint, there's always Mr EOS about.

I'd figured you pop up at some point.

And these tend to be more severe. I don't mind the quit ban. I hate when teammates quit for stupid reasons. I think it should be tweaked to only apply to the first one or two people from your team that quit, but I do like adding a deterrent.

I'll agree, I'd like that. I vaguely remember Bungie saying that if other people quit first there would be some sort of system to not punish you for quitting. That never happened. That was disappointing.

I'd agree to that as well. I'm pretty sure in Halo 3 the last remaining player wouldn't be penalized EXP for quitting so I wonder if Reach at least had something similar implemented for the last remaining player.

How is it the developers fault YOU want to quit out of a game?

Bungie/343 shouldn't punish gamers for not knowing how to program in and out matches like Call of Duty did.

It's not that they don't know how to do it, it's they don't want to do it, it's not Halo. If you want to quit in and out of games go play call of derpy.

And you don't get banned for quitting one game, so if you're quitting that much to get banned you deserve the ban.

The fact that you get banned for quiting once is stupid beyond all reason. I would just like to say one thing BUNGIE IS RUN BY A BUNCH OF FLAMING -blam!-S WHO SHOULD BE FIRED. "Let the players play" Playstation's slogan should apply here but of course Microsoft lets a bunch of dambasses make rules making it impossible to play a game and have a life at the same time

These quit threads are so old now.

Bungie/343i don't make you quit. If you're just going to quit from a match, what was the point in searching for it in the first place? Let alone by yourself.

The quit ban is there to teach players not to quit and to not ruin the match for their teammates.
In any case, most of the players that quit tend to be more of a liability than an asset to their team.

How is it the developers fault? You are able to quit you just get punished if you do it all the time. I agree with the quit ban. I hate teamates that quit.

To vent or express dissatisfaction (you can't do that at Waypoint) like any other thread?

Don'y lie to yourself. It isn't quitting once...it's quitting habitually and you get a warning for that, then you get a ban for another offense if it's shortly after.

Um, either way you're gonna get banned. AFK'ing (Away from Keyboard/Controller) or by quitting.

Anybody who quits repeatedly should get temporarily banned in my opinion. The system can tell if you lagged out or if you legitimately went and clicked "quit game."

Uh, no. You do not get banned for quitting once. Bungie does not even have anything to do with Halo anymore. Stop complaining about things you have no idea about.

Players quitting just when the game starts because they are killed within the first minute or dont like the map deserve a quit ban when it is abused to find a match that they feel is in their favor.
