Halo PC was a great game, but so craply made and never supported. Blame gearbox all you like, but blame lies with you as well.

At some point you must have playtested it and said 'yeah thats fine'. Or perhaps you didnt and let it be released with no idea as to how it was. Either way, it was stupid and money grabbing.

There was no support for halo what-so-ever. None of the major problems people voiced were fixed. It has so many bad faults, its akin to a beta release, not a finished product. If you feel Im being unfair saying that, please feel free to argue that point.

So, with this in mind, and a lot of disgruntled halo PC players, please get it right this time round. If you have been taking any notice of what people have been saying since halo PC was released (you better have, its been years) then you know what the problems are.

Please add support for this game. No-one wants to see it go the way Halo PC has. Its the least you can do, considering people are paying for it.

They fixed it a lot really. Play the Halo Trial to see what netcode and graphics were before all of those updates.....

Not to any decent degree they didnt. Lag is unacceptable, single people can ruin whole games with nothing stopping them, and people can just stay in a server for days because their is no AFK kick. No released update has improved the lag.

Ive been playing it since its been released.

Not to mention all the rest, unstable chat, occasionally chucks you out the game when its loading a map etc.

If nagging stops bungie from making the same mistakes, I'll gladly do it.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Man...people just don't get it still.

Halo was a MAC game first.

Bungie essentially sold out to Microsoft. MAC version was shelved and the game was developed for the xbox.

Fast forward about 3 years, MAC version and PC version are released. Immediately you must patch the game to 1.01 if you want to play online.

Hotfixes come and go over the course of about 2 years. The game stagnates at 1.07 for about a year, and remains at 1.07 to this day.

1.07 was the point at which Microsoft (Bungie doesn't really exist people) washed it's hands of the game.

Bottom line, Halo PC is not the Halo from 1999. The small handful of people who wrote the original MAC game are gone, rich as hell, but gone.

What people don't seem to get is that when you complain here to the moderators, it does nothing. They have no control over the game at all. They don't run the servers, they don't moderate the servers, none of that.

Halo PC at this point is 6 years removed from the original creators, those that would actually care.

Halo PC is about as important to Bungie/Microsoft as ReplayTV.

And lets not even get started with Gearbox, you can blame those guys, but this is Bungie's game, whatever that means anymore...

Now, before the powers at be get all bent out of shape over my post, let me say this: I don't blame anybody, this is just natural. Sure I would have liked to see this game supported more, but you must understand that in the eyes of Microsoft, console gaming is the focus.

It does bother me though that the name Bungie is still used. It gives people the false sense that Bungie is somehow independent of Microsoft and would be actively fixing the game. This of course couldn't be farther from the truth. Bungie does the work on M$ behalf, and I don't see M$ devoting any resources at all to "fixing" Halo PC any further.

I agree with you frank, but if a bad product is released, and no-one complains, it will become ok to release bad products, and not fix the problems. This has been proven time and time again with many things.

The fact its not a console game doesnt make the slightest difference. I understand what you mean though, but if microsoft incorperates live to pc (for example like steam, you have to have it and connect everytime you want to play a game) then microsoft will take more interest.

It would make sense to have an account, not paid for mind, theres not enough for PC players in live to pay for it. However, having your game linked to an account makes it 100 times harder to copy. Also, I like the fact you can download any of your games on steam. My Dvd want funny, so I downloaded HL2 over a few days. Brilliant.

Yes, I know the chances of being heard by *bungie* rather than just the mods is slim to none.

But its a bungie forum, where else am I supposed to go (and dont say microsoft)?

I just dont want them to make the same mistakes they did in Halo pc, so Im voicing it.

At the very least, they cant say we didnt ask..

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

But they did upgrade the netcode for CE. But thats just about the most support halo PC will ever get, It seems like HPC was a test.

M$ has built a multi-billion $ business around releasing bad products in need of fixing... have you heard of Windows? People complain about it, buy it, use it, tear their hair out and then buy the new version. Wash, rinse, repeat. They expect it to work that way for all their products.

At times, it's comforting to see that things never change. I don't think this is one of them.
