I Agree. The Library is the worst level of the game beacuse you only fight the Flood which makes the level really boring.

I don't hate it, but I do find it boring. Especially when I try to do the whole Campaign on Legendary, the Library presents no challenge, just lots of repetitive Flood.

Even though the level gets quite monotonous, I do find the level interesting. The atmosphere is great, and it's so huge and empty it gives you the feel that there used to be other forms of intelligent life that lived here, that created this grand structure. I find it interesting to think about.

However in terms of actually playing the game, it just gets boring fighting wave after Flood, moving to another area, fighting another wave of Flood, moving to another area, and then hearing 343 GS say "I'm going to go open this door while you must survive a horrible gaming cliche by defending this area until I'm back.", and then moving on to another area and the cycle starts all over again.

Maw

I think its rather empty. That makes it seem big. And its fine when you have finished it and can skip.

the bastard GS can teleport you, the elevator could have just gone all the way up, that protocol really sucks if the reclaimer is so important yet is dragged through hoards of flood.

While it is long, repetitive and frustrating that level is pretty cool. Even though I'm ready for it, I jump everytime those bastards leap out of the holes along the sides. And I tend to really get into games so I'm white knuckle thru the whole level.

I hate it but it doesn't bore me. Scared the crap out of me when I played it. *shudders* Yeah it was like 12 at night and I was sleep deprived. Scary.

It gets boring and pointless after the first 20 minutes or so, but this level is an excellent choice for Resident Evil fans.

That level is a bit scary, especially with all the ambient noise going. But after doing a bit of Ravenholm (HL2 Players will know what I'm talking about ;) and for the rest of you...just scroll down a bit...if you dare.)The Library simply isn't scary anymore.

In short, it becomes a Run-and-Gun. And I stopped playing that level ever since I realized that the inevitable gibs produced by the massive amount of flood leads to horrible, horrible lag.

First of all, you don't lag in single player campaign. It's not connected to the internet. If you mean that the game slows down, it's not lag, it's a drop in FPS.
I never really lose any FPS during the Library level. Well, it might be your computer, I don't know.

Actually, you can lag. But in this case, I'm referring to Hardware lag, not online lag. Of course you can't lag online through SP, but you can lag if your hardware's faulty. In my case, I need a RAM upgrade.

Hm...perhaps I should've mentioned that.

Oh, sorry me15ter, you should've mentioned WHICH type of lag. I thought you meant the common, everyday, online lag. I apologize once again.

He's right though. It's a dip in your FPS.

That's an insult to Resident Evil. Even fans of Capcom's scary franchise will go 'Blah' when they play the Library.

This level is no Ravenholm. Ravenholm's level design isn't repetitive and you aren't faced with the same retarded creatures over and over and over again.

I wouldn't say that I hate The Library, or that it is 'boring'.

I would just call it tedious.

Unless you know the shortcuts.

Btw, I didn't know about this guide until after I beat the game.

I like playing it on Legendary Co-Op (X-Box version obviously)

It is fun being back to back fighting wave after wave of flood. It is quite epic. Other than that, I can't say that I enjoy it

He mentions ravenholm because all you fight are headcrabs and zombies, the insane priest tells you to go somewhere and then tells you you are going the wrong way (the game is linear) and when you have to wait like 3 minutes for him to send a cart over to get you, and you have to survive wave after wave of zombies just to wait another minute for the cart to reach you (343GS does kind of the same thing with the doors) and then FINNALY finish the level, just to fall into a pit of more headcrabs. Repetative and annoying, but fun at the same time.

Wow, that was long.

does anyone find the Library level interesting? Not even Mr. Rogers can say anything positive about that level...

Well duh he's dead.

ROFL! Best argument!
"What would mr. rodgers say? "
" Nothing. Hes dead."

The Library. The longest level in the game, and the most pissy ass level on legendary. I hate the Library with a passion. To big, I effing hate GS, and I run my ammo down too fast.
Plus all the flood are annoying.
