Some people like it because they are good with bloom.

Fcking lol'd

Might as well say someone is good 'cause he got a number by rolling a dice.

Pretty sure he means pacing. That's not a dice roll.

Pacing at Mid range on 100% bloom is tactically unsound. It's because someone else is going to be spamming 95% of the time, and get lucky kills because the optimal KT between pacing and spamming is so far apart.

Don't think so.

Should you pace and let the reticule form back, you're avoiding the effects of bloom.

Yeah but by pacing yourself your enemy will have time to spam shoot you 10 times in the body kill you....

and it was fkn awful. One of the most horrific things ever to grace a video game. How did anyone ever defend that crap?

Halo has always had Bloom.

So what is the problem.
Halo has never had bloom on precision weapons.

So that is the problem.

Bloom effects nothing if you are shooting well.

No.

You can "shoot well" ie pace at long distance and increase the amount of spam the closer you get to them. The problem is from any distance away the other person could be spamming faster than you, and if they are lucky or you are unlucky they will will.

With bloom all you can do is minimize the amount of luck but spamming appropriated for the distance. But you cannot change how lucky they get for their spamming.

AKA bloom ruined halo.

This, but it only ruined Halo Reach.

BTW, pace or not paced, you can easily loose a battle with a spammer, why? because all bullets go somewhere else but your enemy.

I still don't get what's so bad about bloom, it doesn't make a difference to me whether or not it is present

I think people just over-exaggerate how bad it is

Goat was famous. Irie was infamous. Gh0st was FaMaS.

My stats in Halol 4

Typical Waypoint post.
no it's "its got to go" you wouldn't say the "it is got to go" would you?

Bloom is retarded.

When DisposableGutter82 can somehow 5 shot me firing full speed when I can barely pace out two shots, then bloom is just fkn stupid.

I don't know, back in the earlier days of the forum and even today I see people who complain a little too much over such a concept, but it doesn't matter much to me since I loladapt to situations

Bloom or not, doesn't make a difference

Pretty much everyone has adapted by now. The best players from before are still the best players now, regardless of randomness, gimmicks and whatnot.

Bloom may not matter to you, but it certainly does to others, especially to people who play the game at a level where a shot-changing mechanic plays a large role.

The Battle Rifle, the Assault Rifle and the Sub Machine Gun always had spread.

The BR could miss through no fault of your own.

ESPECIALLY Halo 3's godawfully BR.
Were you talking to me EOS? lrn2quote.

And bloom =/= spread.

makes sense

Leon > HUNK > Wesker > Ada > Jill > Claire > Chris

I kind of prefer 100%. I don't do any better on it, I just have more fun playing the game on it for some reason.

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

Ugh, I know. I can't believe I actually played the game when it was like that at a point.

yes cuz it stoped kids from just pounding on the triger...you had to take time to aim between shots..like in a real fire fight....

No, it didn't stop kids pounding on the trigger and that was the problem. Some random could spam as fast as they could and win 50% of the time due to luck.

If they wanted to slow down gameplay (or balance it with the AR) they could have just capped the rate of fire on the dmr.

this.

I tried playing team slayer tonight and I couldn't believe how many times I shot guys square in the head (when they had no shields) and they wouldn't die like they do in ZB.

  • 05.28.2012 11:50 PM PDT

as much as i liked the idea behind bloom, playing in MLG has spoiled me. gotta have my ZB. 85% is ok though.
