Subject: Do You Think Bungie Will Need More Mods In The Future?

I say kick out all the sleeping slackers and replace them Destiny begins gaining some steam.
Why not keep the trustworthy sleepers and add more anyway? They aren't exactly taking up room.

If it's not too personal, what city are you moving to?
The Seattle metropolitan area :-)

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Carpe Diem - Carpe Coffee

Astronomy Picture of the Day!

I know a lot of people in here are just guessing by what has happened in the past, but I think we shouldn't rule out the possibility that the next site update could lessen the need of Forum Ninjas. It sounds like we're in for a pretty big re-haul after all.

I don't know. Right now, with Bungie having gone dark, there's not an excessive amount of site activity. Once the New Hawtness releases, however, site activity is guaranteed to surge. Whether or not that will merit more Ninjas is anyone's guess. I think, however, that if more mods were needed, I think it would be a small number; two or three at most.

There will only be a need whenever Destiny is unveiled, then more people will start coming to b.net.

I apologize in advance for all the crappy jokes I make.

I think the sleeping mods must be replaced, but their number should stay the same.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Confirmed: Foman is now Bungie's new lawyer.
Hah, don't I wish!
Hmmm.

Anyways, if I sent Bungie a rough draft of a story that I'm writing, what would happen?

Mean lawyers would prevent our writers from reading it.
Absolutely confirmed!

Does this mean that Foman is going to rewrite the Terms of Use and Code of Conduct so that they contain paragraph upon paragraph of indecipherable lawyer jargon?

This topic is brought up every now and then. If there is a need for more mods, then more mods will be added. Simple :3

In my personal opinion I think more mods will be added if there's a population increase.

  • 05.29.2012 5:46 PM PDT

I see no reason why anyone would object to this, what would be so bad about having a couple more ninjas to help keep the forum clean.

It is not like it would just be a bunch of random people, Bungie would obviously choose people who are qualified.

I think JB said it best. This would especially be true if they introduce some sort of new content filter or 'self moderation' tool/feature/mechanic. If not, I don't see why Bungie wont recruit more Ninjas... it's what they've done in the past.

@Geegs30

I can see the web team adding a few new people in order to help with the inevitable swarm of new folks that will come when the next game gets closer to being announced/revealed whatever. Not too many though, having mods step on eachother's toes all over the forums is not good.

There's already a very capable team in place.

Well, I was making tacos so, I'm not sure about the other guys.

That's true however they are a capable team that is going to have to moderate what I imagine will be a large amount of new forum goers upon the release of substantial Destiny news.

Hopefully JB's guess is correct and the webteam's overhaul will add more/better features for self moderation.

If the status quo remains through the Destiny launch, adding a few active mods couldn't hurt. Or would it?

Honestly I don't see more moderation needed immediately following the enviable influx of new users with Bungie's new game. We lost a good bit of activity when Halo was handed over fully to 343i which may act as a nice buffer zone for the current staff. Moderators can always be added as needed later on though, no need reinforce the ranks yet.
