just the right amount of plot, like CE.

I find this almost insulting. Reach didn't have a plot until the end of The Package.

you exaggerate

I do not. The entire point of the game was to deliver the Cortana fragment to the Pillar of Autumn for some reason that's never explained, the Latchkey Artefact is never explained - it can't have been anything to do with Halo because Cortana already had the coordinates. We're not told anything. The rest of the game is just fighting Covenant because they're inconveniencing you, there's no point to the game until the penultimate mission and even then it's just a way to implement the nostalgia factor by shoehorning in Halsey, Keyes, the Autumn and Cortana.

well I suppose trying to save an entire planet is quite inconvenient. how do you know cortana already had the co-ordinates? I thought they were contained in the fragment.

Read the books.

Read the books.

I suppose I could re-read the fall of reach book, but which is accepted canon now?- the book or the game?

The games override the books. So unforchantly Reach's god awful campaign overrides the book.

Bungie dumped that load over 343i who have since managed to smooth these details over, but there's a theory (which holds a lot of credibility) that the game Halo: Reach is just a recreation of events as ONI propaganda because in the Limited/Legendary edition the little notes you get about the game and Halsey's journal suggest it.

That does actually make seance. For example in the book the battle of Reach lasted for what? About a day or so. But in the game it lasted a lot longer.

So I can see ONI saying the battle lasted longer so it wouldn't destroy humanity's morale as much. As it would be by saying the battle lasted as long as it did in the book.

Trust in ONI. They know what's best.

Does anyone even look at these?

Probably an 8, the first time. But it wasn't enjoyable afterwards, whereas I could go back to Halo 2 or 3 right now and redo it over and over.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

First time? Loved it.

Second time? Loved it.

Third time? Spent it looking for Easter Eggs and getting achievements.

Fourth time? HATED IT. I still think the only good levels in that game are PoA, LNoS, and Lone Wolf.

Makes sense.

Better than the steaming pile of crap we have right now.

Generous 6. ahw34307 or whatever his name was was right, the story really was nonexistent until New Alexandria. However, it was still somewhat challenging and I liked how they tied the end in with CE, if I had never played a Halo campaign before I would probably give it lower though cause that was the only cool thing about the story. There was no driving part in the whole thing (And don't you dare call that PoA mongoose a driving part it was terrible compared to CE and 3) which is what made 3 really fun... and yeah uhh, that's pretty much it

I partially agree.

LNoS's mission start is too short and lacks replayability (seriously, only giving us a Wraith) while the space battle is too easy/simple. The only way to make it a challenge is to not use the left stick. The real combat begins at rally point bravo.

Nonetheless, LNoS is pretty much 1/3 of a campaign mission. If it weren't for the long unskippable cinematics and long pauses in the space battle, the speedrun times would be much more shorter.

Challenging for the wrong reasons... anyways, PoA had huge potential. The AI numbers look pretty big. It's just too bad that they're not all fought at once.

I have said it once, I'll say it again, Reach took my virginity, and it turned me pure solid addict. Solid 10.0 from me, I played through Halo Anniversary, and while the story is great, Reach gave me more satisfaction. Bungie delivered!

A lot of over exaggerations here, I didn't think it was all that bad myself... the multiplayer is another story.

So true.
