Subject: How is Earth under Covenant Control?

Erepublik: Save the world from oppression!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, obviously, there are still human ships and MAC stations in orbit fighting. The begining of halo 3 begins right where halo 2 stopped. So, we have the Master Chief landing on Earth, which is 10 minutes to one hour after the "To finish the fight" quote. Why would there still be humans fighting in space if Earth is still under Covenant Control? How could the Covenant all of a sudden take over Earth in 10minutes to 1 hour? Thats hardly imaginable, even for the Covenant.

If the covenant did take over, how did they do it? We are looking at 200 MAC stations, 10 times the amount at Reach. We're looking at devotion, this is their homeworld. We're looking at probably 400 human capital ships. There's probably a nuclear mine field as well. Unless the Covenant came in with 600+ capital ships, in which if so, we are looking at a crapload of debris in space, which I don't see.

Any explainations?

I dont remember them saying that the trailer started right at the end of halo 2...it could be anywhere in the game. Near the end, the middle or possibly the start.

  • 06.07.2006 2:35 PM PDT

From what I understand is that the Humans were very afraid of the Covenant finding Earth. This is because they knew that they wouldn't stand a chance.

The Covenant have crushed the Humans in almost every battle, except for The Halo.

True. The Covenant have found Earth. But, is it stated that the Covenant control Earth? Is there a bungie statement?

I heard somewhere that the trailer is supposed to be like in the middle of the story of H3...but this far out it was just a announcement trailer...dont take it literally...

if i go down ill take some gamer with me

who said EARTH was under the coves control?
sure there are some ships in orbit and (on?) EARTH, but that does not mean the they contoll it.

its probably that there moving from cont to cont fighting the humans as they move along.

so they do not conroll EARTH and they NEVER will. (you got that mister?) lol

A lot of people are saying Earth is under covenant control. I see no proof of that.

I am pretty sure that they said it was close to the middle of the game.

im more in favor of the arc being under the moons crust and that giant structure a weapon shooting at the moon to uncover the arc...or hidden halo under the moon...

think about it it would be easier to hide something in the moon then in earths crust...

In fact, in the documentary, I believe someone mentioned that "you would actually be able to play the part of the game the trailer was advertising NEAR THE END...something along those lines, anyways.

Yes Earth is indeed under covenant control. Lets look at the facts. Regreats small fleet would have managed to take out at least a dozen mac guns. Truths fleet however is about a 100 times larger then the one that attacked reach. The odds are very much against mankind. Remember, it just takes one ship to get into range and its over for that station. Also remember the trailer is 1/3 through the game.

No, it isn't. There may be a Halo underneath the earth, but the earth is most definately not a ring.

What are you talking about. Regret took out two MAC guns. Two. Ok, great, theres 198 left. The reason those 2 got taken out was because the Humans didn't expect a bomb on board. Humans adapt. I highly doubt that the Humans would let the rest of the MACs to fall to the same thing. Also, no, one ship into range does not equal dead station. Realize these Stations are Earth's only hope. Therefore, the humans surely will sacrfice several capital ships to defend the station. If truth's fleet is 100 times larger, you're looking at 1200+ CCS's. Quite thruthfully, if there are 1200 ships, the humans would loose in less than 10 minutes. Obviously, that hasn't happened.

no the timelines dont match up for a halo to have been placed underneath earths crust when it was forming...makes more sense for the moon...its a very loose and highly speculative as to its origin and how it formed...

there are several days between the first fleet arriving and when cheif arrives back to earth...the covenant have thousands of ships with massive fleets...

they will take earth and they will do it easily... if it already hasn't happend...

If there is a Halo inside Earth, what's the purpose of Earth hypothetically being the ark. Plus, it wouldn't quite be a "Remote detonation" anymore.

If the Covenant have so many ships, why is the Cairo and other human spacecraft still fighting. I seriously doubt 400 capital ships and 200 stations can stand up to 1200+ capital ships. One, maybe two salvoes from the covenants would be enough to annhilate all Human spacecraft and stations.

Let me help YOU get your facts together, firstly there are 300 M.A.C stations holding orbit around the evactuated Earth. If you read the fall of Reach you would see on several occations covenat warships simply get into range and fire 3 plasma missles at the stations. The small human capitol ships don't have the mass to cover a station from its impeding doom.

It's possible that they figured out that they could jump into a planets atmosphere. If they did that they could take out the generators powering the MAC stations, and then the covenant would only have to deal with the human ships, which would mostly be destroyers and Frigates because most of the cruisers had been destroyed in earlier battles. And I'm sure that the covenant attacked with a lot of ships.
