I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

So one reason (IMO) for groups dieing is that the members no longer check-up on them because of inconsistency in the creation of new threads.

Do you think it would be a good idea if we had a group "new thread updater"? So in the group section of our personal profiles it would look like this (in no way is this intended to serve as advertising but just serving as example). Personally I think we could do with something like this so it becomes easier for people to see which groups have new content.

What say you?!

That would be interesting.

Groups aren't dying.

Or mine isn't. It actually has a point...unlike some.

Key

People are going to be the typical idiotic hidebound forumgoer who comes on here and tells you your idea is stupid because Facebook has statuses too. Ignore them.

OT: Really good idea. Instant communication is the way of the future, why not bring it to Bungie.net?

If I could turn it on and off then yes, that'd be prety coool.

I like your idea, hopefully Private Groups will get new tools and updates.

I could see groups starting to create many threads with no real meat for that exact reason. Besides, not all groups are "dead" and there is a blatant reason why some may appear to be.

In response to some people saying

Groups aren't dead, only the futile ones are

The need is still present for some kind of status updater.
You can be in 25 of the most active groups and you will find it to be much more easier if you know which groups have had some activity rather than checking groups to find them in the same status they were the last time you checked.

EDIT : Anybody think that a script could fulfill this need if the webteam do not? Personally I have no experience with scripts or coding.
