Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

Every competitive sport or game that you know of today started as a casual game.

Basketball, started as a casual game
Football, started as a casual game
Baseball, started as a casual game
Chess
Checkers
PC gaming
Console gaming

EVERY GAME YOU KNOW TODAY, Started out casually.
Then, people like you come in afterwards and started messing around and creating rules and regulations and turned it into a job.

So, tell me again that a game should be designed for competitives first...and I'll tell you, you're an idiot contributing to the stagnation of the industry.

Casuals push the industry forward.
Competitives hold it in place.

If it wasn't for casuals. You probably wouldn't even be looking at the same landscape as far as the gaming industry as a whole is concerned. It would be MUCH MUCH Worse, and way more boring.

We'd probably still be playing nothing but pong.

Casual Halo:
Jetpack
Armor Lock
DMR

Competitive Halo:
DMR

See the difference?

You don't design for competitives first.

And technically, there is nothing stopping you guys from coming in and adding all your arbitrary rules to make it suit your competitives needs....other than matchmaking itself.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

I knew whatever you were going to post was going to be stupid to the point of making me want to hurt myself physically.

There's a reason why people call you a "well known B.net stupid".

Ok.. so let me -blam!- about Halo 1 like you guys.

Invisibility...WAH!! why you gonna put that in the game..It's unfair for 1 person to have that ability... WAH! TAKE IT OUT! IT'S NOT CONCLUSIVE TO COMPETITIVE PLAY!

And thus invisibility was never implemented in Halo 1.

Because technically. Invisibilty and overshield, was just as harmful to competitive play during Halo 1 as you people make out jetpacks to be harmful to reach. Because invisibility and overshield were "crutches". HELLO?!?!?!

You think just because you got there before someone else...means you're skilled? No..you just spawned closer.. and thus get an unfair advantage.

And if you even attempt to deny that. You're the only -blam!- idiots in this forum.

Would you or would you not say that the overshield and invisibilty on sidewinder required absolutely NO SKILL to obtain? All you had to do was run straight for it..no battles on the way there. Just hope you spawn closer and get there before they do. How can that be called skill.. and not some loser trying to obtain a "crutch" to have an unfair advantage over the enemy.

And to this very day...
Competitives seem to think that footrace for powerweapons, translates into skill. You're all -blam!- deluded.

I walked over here and picked this up before anyone else.. I'm so awesome at this game with this "crutch" that I beat everyone too.

UH OH, you're trying to eliminate 1 person having access to the crutch by making loadouts......WAH!!!!!!

There's more to being skillful at a game that doesn't involve beating someone in a foot race.. losers.

And when Bungie attempted to remove the unfair advantage that the footrace introduced... You all cried more than anyone else on the internet has ever cried before.

I seriously question if you had been born by the time of these events.

I'm sorry America is busy helping others in the world and actually making a difference.

Something Canada will never do.

casuals are raping the gaming industry

Posted by: MR E0SChrist you are so -blam!- retarded and ignorant, you have no clue what the hell you are talking about, yet you continue to spread your retarded and flawed logic around here. Waypoint kids have nothing on you. There is no -blam!- unfair advantage to overshield and camo, you don't want the enemy to have them, go get them yourself, if you don't get them than the other team deserves this "unfair advantage."
There's more to being skillful at a game that doesn't involve beating someone in a foot race.. losers.Yes because spawning with camo and crouching around is skillful. Dumbass.

Remove yourself from the gene pool. You're doing all of us a favour.

Try playing Counter Strike casually.

Doesn't work. You get booted by elitest -blam!-s.

Stop joining ongoing live tournaments.
Problem solved.
