Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.
-blam!- all of you fanboys!
Every competitive sport or game that you know of today started as a casual game.
Basketball, started as a casual game
Football, started as a casual game
Baseball, started as a casual game
Chess
Checkers
PC gaming
Console gaming
EVERY GAME YOU KNOW TODAY, Started out casually.
Then, people like you come in afterwards and started messing around and creating rules and regulations and turned it into a job.
So, tell me again that a game should be designed for competitives first...and I'll tell you, you're an idiot contributing to the stagnation of the industry.
Casuals push the industry forward.
Competitives hold it in place.
If it wasn't for casuals. You probably wouldn't even be looking at the same landscape as far as the gaming industry as a whole is concerned. It would be MUCH MUCH Worse, and way more boring.
We'd probably still be playing nothing but pong.
