What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Do you have the right ports open for Halo on the firewall?
Also, what is your ISP? I got Quest, and when I try to host a game, It wants to host them on the modem, not my PC. Doesnt work too well.
Someone give him the link about this issue, eh? I've got a lotta crap I gotta take care of right now.

Dude I'm having the same problem. Are you using a Linksys router? Whether this is the case or not, there is a way for you to host your own games. If your computer isn't right next to your router, forget it. If your computer if right next to your router, disconnect the internet cable that gives the router internet access and plug it into your computer tower. You may need to do some stuff on your computer to be able to access the internet through the direct ethernet cable, but I'm sure you'll get it. This worked for my friend and it could work for you.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

I can host just fine on my linksys router(wrt54g).

Really? I can't host any games on mine and I still have my firewall down...of course I'm connected to my router wirelessly...would that have an effect?

Are you kidding? Linksys wont allow hosting? damn. Thats weak. Im connected wirelessly to the modem upstairs in my house. I could host games fine and dandy on my dial up connection, then I switched to DSL, and started using wireless. Thats where the problems started.
This is annoying now! Gaa!

MAKE SURE YOU ARE PORT FORWARDING
If you have no clue what that is, then you are in trouble, but you can start out at www.portforward.com

Just put Ports 2302 / 2303 in your "Port Forwarding", or in your "DMZ", on Linksys routers it might be a tab called "Applications and Gaming"

Forward Ports 2302 / 2303 on TCP, and antoher one for UDP, unless there is a "BOTH" option... Linksys routers are pretty straight forward.

Also if you're giving them your IP, so they can join through Direct IP, make sure you give them your WAN IP,

And not your network IP (most likely 192.168.1.3, or 127.0.0.1, or somehting of the like)
