This is where I go to burn off some steam from all that repressed anger I have. If I insulted you on b.net, don't take it literally.

Major Silva in particular despised them due to Lil' John-117 killing 3 of his men and receiving no punishment.

Other ODSTs simply were jealous of their no longer being the most elite troops in the UNSC, the far superior equipment the Spartans were issued, the glorification of the Spartans by UNSC/ONI propaganda, etc.

This.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

The UNSC pretty much said that the Spartans were single-handedly winning the war against the Covies. The other branches and even units in the UNSC's combined military weren't given much credit for holding their own throughout the war.

I don't know about winning the war but they were bringing home many many ground victories.

Yep. Really for the most of the ODST's, it wasn't hatred. It was just "They get all the credit and shiny new tech."

However, a few cases like Silva existed where it was truly them hating Spartans.

Silva was an idiot....

  • 06.02.2012 4:33 PM PDT

That other guy

ODSTs just werent as good. every time they saw a spartan in action, they got shown up

The ODST were arrogant elitist pricks who couldn't find the necessary skills and unbiased fortitude to work efficiently with non-ODST. Helljumpers in particular were known for their abrasive and overly-aggressive attitude toward Marines and non-Helljumpers (Marine and ODST alike). SPARTANS I don't ever recall harming non-SPARTANS deliberately, only out of self-defense. Silva was a pompous ass, and I'm glad he got was his arrogant self deserved in the Flood. So many people hate The Flood but its actually my favorite Halo book.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Think about it, if you're (pretty much) sent in to do the same job, yet aren't as revered as them, you probably won't be to impressed.

I can understand the elitism towards non ODST(excluding spartans) because the ODST is an all volunteer unit.

"I would kill to get a killionaire... 10 times... digitally."

Pretty sure it had something to do with this.

Silva despises them cause of that incident.

A few hate spartans because of when John as a child killed three ODSts to see if augmentations had worked. But most only dislkie the mbecasue they see them as better and aren't part of the ODST so aren't in their 'club' but they respect the abilities of the Spartans and if an ODST was offered a Spartan to assist them they wouldn't pass it up. It could also be that the ODSTs see themselves doing the dirty work whilst the spartans get all the recognition and glory.

And pretty much only Silva. Maybe a few others but the majority wouldn't know of that incident.

Most ODST's admire Spartans. But yes that incident where John kills the 3 ODST's in the Gym hasn't made Spartans seem any friendlier.

Eehhh, I'm not so sure about all that admiring business. I believe, "respect" is a better word. Most ODST's are not fond of Spartans.

It's not that all ODSTs dislike Spartans, just that most of the people who dislike Spartans are ODSTs.

Do I really need a signature?

Chief killed three ODSTs and got away with it and spartans were the only competition to the ODSTs.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Because the ODST's weren't the top of the line hardasses anymore. They weren't the best of the best.
