Honestly, if it wasn't for Halo 2 I wouldn't be playing video games today.
Halo 2 was the reason I started to seriously enjoy video games for all their aspects. You know, the story, gameplay, visuals, etc...
I still remember the first time I played it, too. I was invited to my friends house to stay the night, and his brother was playing Halo 2. So, we waited till he went to bed and we played it. I changed after that night. I only wanted to play that game and that game only. So, it was pretty much everyday that my friend and I would play Halo 2 together.
We beat the campaign rather quickly, but we mostly played each other in customs. We would also have LAN parties (remember those, guys?) on the weekends where all our friends who played, and all of my friend's brother's friend's from high school would come over. That's all we would do is customs and it was some of the best times in my short life.
Luckily for me, all of this happened around the 05-06 timeframe. So, we only played Halo 2 for around a year and half before Halo 3 came out. I just knew that Halo 3 would be soooo much better, that I convinced my parents to buy me an Xbox 360 so I could have it. When Halo 3 came out, we had our last, and greatest LAN party. We rented a big screen TV, we all brought our systems and separate TV's and the weekend after Halo 3's release, I don't think I stepped one foot outside. It was our last because we all got Xbox Live like the week after.
Those two games, Halo 2 and Halo 3, will forever be my top two favorite games.
tl;dr If it wasn't for Bungie, I wouldn't be playing video games today.
