Sad endings are good. Just look at Armageddon.

After leaving us with an ending like Halo 2's, you know it is going to be a good ending.

I really hope that MC saves the Galaxy and nobody dies... BUT ... If MC dies it´s ok, he died being a true hero and really really really hope they say how Sgt Johnson escaped the Flood in Halo 1

it will be good, I hope they have an ending showing what will happen in the furture. Maybe if the rings activate, they show the future in a thousand years, and there will be humans walkin around rebuilding the world again. Hell, bungie could have a huge marketing scheme and make a disk that you can create your own storyline for the races and stuff.

I'm thinking that the ending will be good either way.

1. Master Chief dies saving everyone in the process.
2. Master Chief lives saving everyone in the process.
3. (My candidate) Master Chief is reunited with the other remaining Spartans, and also Dr. Halsey. Then goes on to save everyone from being destroyed. I also think his history as the reclaimer will come into play big time.

P.S. Sgt. Johnson escaped the Flood because he has a terminal disease that they found not to thier liking, so they left him because he would not be a useful host. (Much to the dismay of the Brutes, I must say).

I KNOW for a fact its gonna be a good ending...but i dont want the same Walt Disney ending, where everyone lives and Master Chief gets a big medal. What I want is Master Chief having to sacrifice something Very Important, even if its his life, to save everyone.

Yea like you said.. this isnt Disney, this is HALO... a main char has to die. I dont mean like leaving cortana behind like sad Halo 3 needs a sad ending... like cheif dying. I know i hate the idea like most of you but its not a sissy game. This is a hardcore, FPS. Some blood needs to be shed. If everyone lives happily ever after it will SUCK. Need a sad ending i think or atleast a bitter sweet victory.

I bet you MC dies at the end, and like before he dies, he takes off his helmet and kisses linda or kelly or something.
Everything has some kind of romance in it.......

Heres how the ending should go.

Arbite kills chief and the elites in take over earth and inslave everyone. Also the brutes end up sissy monkeys that drank special formulas to make them how they look like for a couple of years. Joking about the brute part but the rest hell yeah.

I think that the best ending would be that master chief would have to make a decision between sacrificing everything dear to him (fellow Spartans, Dr. Halsey, Cortana, etc.) and saving the world.

And he chooses to save the world.

Or to put a twist in it and have an indefinite ending:

The flood become way to powerful and Master Chief is forced in the end to activate the halo rings, the only way to eliminate the flood.

Everyone seems to have the idea that Master Chief is going to die (or at least have this idea at the back of their head).

Halo isn't your typical over-dramatic, Hollywood trash that is pumped out every few months.

The Halo series will go out with a bang. And so will you if you say other wise. If you get my drift... *brandishes magnum*

I DONT WANT MC TO DIE! i want to think that after i beat H3 hes out there somewhere, saving us from other alien threats... not dead under the soil in some country in Africa.

Do you really want a lame romance story threaded into the already complicated plot of the Halo series? Though I bet MC can handle his share of women regardless of the circumstances, I don't want to see wasted cutscenes of two spartans snuggling. I want to see epic battles and elites and spartans absolutely tearing up brutes.

Personally I want him to kiss the Arbiter and get his face ripped off. I think they will activate Halo for the good of the universe or something.

If they do go with the whole "destroy the universe" ending, it wouldnt surprise me too much. In a way it would make sense. 343 Guilty Spark would end up surviving, and then reliving the same events over again because its all just one big circle....or Halo to be exact.

what would be cool is if the last lvl your fighting the final boss *then you beat game* It goes to a cine, where you are fighting the boss, you both attack at the same time. You kill it, but its ( laser, fist, gun, explosive *whatever you want it to be* ) shatters his visor, he falls to ground, * can you feel it? hes gonna die soon * It shows through some of the cracked visor, showin an eye with the glass of the visor in it...and have him die alone, at the high throne or something.

Why always assume the MC? The possibility is not ruled out, but having the main hero sacrifice himself for the greater good has always been a cliche.

For all that's known, MC may find out what 343 Guilty Spark's rambling about in Halo that 'he' was the one who fired Halo. Perhaps he will have no other choice but to activate Halo for the greater good. If MC does what's necessary to destroy the Covenant and the Flood, then humanity has won even at a insurmountable cost. It seems to me, that throughout Halo and Halo 2, history is being repeated as to the Forerunner.

Or to destroy High Charity and the Gravemind.

Or perhaps the ending just leaves another cliffhanger that no one will know whether it's a happy ending or a not-so-happy ending.

It would break my heart, but I like the possibility of perhaps John being overpowered by the flood... They they infect him in the end and you play one last, desperate level as the dying Master Chief...
