Subject: Are the Reach Map Packs worth it?

I usually don't get map packs for a game, I got Halo 3: ODST so I never bought the map packs for H3.

Are the Reach map packs worth the 1600 MSP though? I plan on playing this for a long time, until Halo 4 comes out or another interesting game.

TL;DR: Are the Reach packs worth it? I'll be playing this game a lot.

Thanks. :)

I already have the Anniv. pack, so yeah.

Punks not Dead.

I'd say no since the DLC Playlists aren't really populated. The maps themselves aren't very bad, but when you play the regular playlists (like big team battle) you also get alot of new community maps so there are alot of maps to play on. (even though alot of them aren't very good IMO)...
If you want the firefight maps I'd say yes since they are very good IMO but do you really want to pay 800 MS twice for 2 firefight mappacks?

Spit rounds like the gun range,
Beat it up like Rampage!

the Squad DLC maps are not worth it. the maps are pretty cool but its dead there. buy the anniversary map pack its worth it.

The Tech Game

1,000,000+ Members, and still going strong!

The maps are cool actually, I bought them each for 400 MSP a few weeks ago and I like them.

Since they're 800 each, I'd say no though... they're worth $5, not 10..

The Defiant Map Pack contains perhaps the best maps that Bungie has crafted to date... it's just that noone really knows about them because no one pennied up the dough to play them in the first place. My guess is that Reach would be a lot more popular if they had included these maps in the first place, instead of milking what they could to a self-defeated fan base.

Defiant is better than noble. Both are very substandard, though.
Anniversary is okay. I really don't enjoy any of those maps either to be honest. The base Reach maps are better in my opinion.

It's funny because 343i made the Defiant map pack.

OT: Would have been worth it on release, or when it was half price. But not now.

MS should have kept it half price, no-one's buying the DLC anymore it seems.

Noble Pack was garbage. Defiant and the Halo Anniversary maps really are the only good ones.

REACH 2 ACHIEVE.
Pink but deadly

I like the map pack maps. They're pretty interesting. ^.^

I would go with anniversary or defiant since noble kinda sucked.

How does Noble suck if it's the only map pack that has maps for any gametype and team size that the game offers?

Defiant would have been better if it didn't have the Firefight map tacked on.

Defiant was good since it offered a new firefight map and Highlands and the Anneverisery was awesome since it had seven maps and new gametypes plus forge items.

So Bungie should have included maps that not only were not even made or designed, but that another company was making. Got'cha.

To me, the Noble Map and Anniversary map pack are the only map packs I recommend. I didn't like the Defiant that much.

Shine Brighter.

Didn't buy anniversary but defiant and noble were way better than the regular maps and grassy-bland-grey-walls that is forge world. if your tired of forge world, squad dlc is a good playlist but the population is low and there isnt all that variety of gametypes. but it does feel good to play on some real, fresh maps . like the one dude above me said if they had included these maps before release it would have been a lot smoother.

The 1 dlc playlist sucks and you'll rarely find the maps in regular matchmaking.. They aren't worth it anymore since 343i took over and screwed all dlc users.

Exactly... and what I'm saying is that Bungie should've included them! It just makes sense.

They're terrible and underused.

Not a single map in either the Defiant or Noble map pack is actually good let alone worth paying for.

Absolutely not.

I gave Bungie my cash for good maps, and they never see the light of day in regular playlists (I guess trying create lobbies only of people with the map packs is beyond the capabilities of their netcode for some lame reason) and I don't feel like having to go to other playlists just to enjoy that content.
