The multiplayer and Singleplayer is two different sides on the same coin...
Bungie will probably use the same models in multiplayer as in singleplayer...
There is just one thing I dont understand...
when doing co-op you are TWO spartans, right I thought cheif was the only one left...

I don't know if you're joking here...if you are then ignore.
Anyway, seriously... the fact that you can play co-op doesn't change the Campaign story AT ALL. It's just a way of adding another dimension of fun to an already brilliant game; the same goes for multiplayer. It's not meant to make one start questioning the foundations of the main story-arc!!!
Bungie just provide that so Halo gameplay can be enjoyed long after one has completed the campaign several times. Furthermore, it can be enjoyed with friends on or off Xbox Live.
If it really bothers people that much (which it doesn't I don't think) just make up your own story. MC found his Spartan pals and now they train together etc etc .... who cares...it's got NOTHING to do with the plot.
