Subject: Predict Reach's Population When....

Herroh. U have reached teh BOOGIE LAND

Halo 4 comes out. I barely see it getting 10K players on at one time. Actually, I think Halo 3 will have more players. Maybe on November 6th when Halo Reach comes out, the population would be around 20K at a time, and then gradually drop. Halo 3's population was at 50K at a time when Halo Reach came out on the first day.

Sadly, Halo Reach's life is coming to an end. 5 more months, and this game will be down the drain and dead. Halo Reach was the first Halo game where you could actually "feel" the game. You knew when a grenade was thrown, you could feel the gun go through your controller, and you it was the first time Halo MP was actually part of the new generation of gaming. Even though it had its flaws, it introduced some good innovations into the franchise of Halo.

So once again, predict Halo Reach's Population when Halo 4 comes out.

I'm guessing about 75% of the population will drop. The only ones left playing it would be the ones who don't get Halo 4.

Planking : Parkour for people who don't move very fast.

It'll drop, but I doubt it will drop below Halo 3 numbers, what with everyone playing the "Shiney new Halo gaem!"

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

Yeah, it felt like -blam!-.

You knew when a grenade was thrown

Because they were constantly exploding around you.

it was the first time Halo MP was actually part of the new generation of gaming.

Unfortunately, this "new generation of gaming" is the casual gaming industry, where easy, mindless games such as CoD and Farmville prevail.

Even though it had its flaws, it introduced some good innovations into the franchise of Halo.

The only good innovations it added to Halo was a properly working netcode and the Grenade Launcher. Just about everything else was horrible.

So once again, predict Halo Reach's Population when Halo 4 comes out.

Hopefully it will finally, completely, die.

If it's bad online i might as well stick to CS:GO for better MP gameplay, if that game is out by that time for the 360.

It'll drop a lot but just like every past Halo game I'll still play it alongside the Halo 4.

Walk by faith. Dude. Not by sight.

Reach's population will drop dramatically, just like the Halo 3 population dived when Reach was released. And by the way, guess what's gonna happen to Halo 3 multiplayer? It's definitely not going to rise.

Planking : Parkour for people who don't move very fast.

After checking the recent live rankings, seems more people will be playing Minecraft anyway.

When your spirit is floatin' down the tunnel, toward the light, you know wot's behind the light? It's not god. It's me. And I'm gonna kick your --- soul all the way back down the tunnel, 'til you choke on your own ---'d up ribs. Now. Wake. The ----. Up!

I think I'll be one of 30% of Reach players still playing the game. Give it a few years and it'll drop more.
Take a look at Halo 3's online MP, for example. For someone of low rank like me, it can take up to 10 minutes to find a full match of Team Slayer.

Wow, I never fully appreciated how blindly negative the reach community was

Here's the thing. When a game is going to come out, everyone gets hyped up and thinks the previous game will be dead. And then, no matter what happens, people will find a way and a reason to complain, and the population of the previous game will probably drop, but still be high enough beacuse people still enjoy the game - either more than or in conjunction with the new game.

This is why people still play Reach even after other games come out. This is why people still play Halo 3 even after Reach came out. This is why Halo 2 had a population until the day they shut down the legacy servers.

I'm new to competitive Halo and Halo itself (Reach being my first video game ever actually). Message me if you want to play;

Reach: MLG, Arena, Doubles, BTB and customs.
Halo 3: Ranked MM and customs.

Also I have every Halo title and all of its DLC on the Xbox 360.

More people will be playing Halo 3 than reach:)

I predict a drop for a day, then once people realize that 343 has shown them that what Reach ruined is nothing compared to what they can ruin, they'll all come running back to Reach or Halo 3 instead. The people on Reach and Halo 3 right now are Halo fans, and not the people who just get new games when they come out. The people who will stick with Halo 4 will be the same people who buy new CoD games even though it's always the same thing. You know, idiots.

I predict a drastic drop in the population after Halo 4 comes out due to the holiday season will boost sales of the new game.

  • 06.03.2012 7:47 PM PDT

Probably around 3,000 to 5,000 peopple. Of course Christmas in around the corner so probably around 500 to 1,500'ish?

  • 06.03.2012 8:05 PM PDT

About 30,000. Can't expect too low numbers for a game every one already hates.

  • 06.03.2012 8:09 PM PDT

Black Ops 2 I run two accounts warmup only at 1.97kdr...real is at 3.77. i'm in master division 4 league play. pm 4 clan inv...must have 2.5 kdr or better

It's population will dip quite a bit and Halo 3's will cut out of the top 20, at least temporarily. If Halo 4 is successful, Reach will also fade into the bottom of the top 20 and after a year or so it's average games played per day or whatever will sink below Halo 3's numbers.

Remember, the statistics where Halo Reach barely averaged more than Halo 3. Halo 3 at this time endured over two years of a new halo as well as a bigger industry. By the time Reach hits this point it will fade. Halo 3 sold 14.5 million copies. Reach sold about 9. Halo 4 will look to at least beat Reach and if it does good, may surpass Halo 3.
