Does spartan choose his armor, or his superiors or mission briefer?

You know, according to missions terrain, hazards and other things.
Or does spartan choose it himself judging it by his preferences.

As we see by Emile and Jun they seem to chosen their armor by their preferences(Jun) and basing on their skills(Emile).

So, what do you think?
I mean all armor pieces-helmet,wrist,chest,feet,legs,knee pads, additional equipment slots etc.

I believe not. Far as I know Bungie just chose to say -blam!- it and lets give them different armor. Only ones I know that use different aromor is Grey team because their missions are waaaaay behind enemy lines and Black team, but those are just proto type armor.

Most of the time with S2's they just got uniform armor. However, armor variant pieces exist as proven by canon (CQB, EVA among them shown).

Spartan III's were trained to field upgrade and modify their armor as I remember, and it's likely the Noble Team had more freedom in picking their pieces then the Spartan II's.

That other guy

I don't know if spartans choose their armor, i believe that he/she is assigned armor that fits their needs and skills. For example, look at noble team. Noble 1-5 have armor related to their skill sets and weaponry. People with bigger guns will tend to need something a bit bigger and better to use it. Also look at cat, her armor is based upon a tech skill set.

...And when i am standing there, watching as the slingshot is cranked back into the shadows, a smile will bestow upon my face as I softly whisper one word..."blam...."

Check out my Youtube Channel!

95% Spartans are given the same/identical armor. noble and grey team are examples of the small % of Spartans with unique armor.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

It would be logical that Spartan's were permitted to adjust and alter their armor as they see fit for their mission. Colors I'm not so sure, but armor details I'd say they were free to adjust depending on their operational role within the squad.
