I myself preffered not having a health bar as we did in Halo CE, although it didnt bother me much i would still rather have the H2 shield and life style. i was just wondering everyone elses opinion. let us know what you think.

Why take a step backwards in the design of the MJOLNIR armor?

I'm thinking a combo of the two like in Halo CE but maybe with a stronger shield like in Halo 2 because of the lack of health bar

I am your shield, I am you sword (source).

Although I didn't like halo 2s health system in the beginning, it's def. better after you've got used to it.

In real life, would you have a health bar in front of telling you when your going to die?

Its more realistic without it.

I think having no life bar made Halo 2 much more intense. It's scary not knowing when you are going to die!=P And besides finding health packs is just a waste of time.

I think there should be a health bar because in halo 2 there is health after shields it just doesnt last very long but its significant enough that I want to know how much I have left.

there should be a shield and a type of health bar.
but it indicates the state of mc's armor it is only like five hits before you die but it is the same as the marine if not less its like the armor does nothing

Halo 2 style should stay. In the books Master Chief has the shield, much past that and he would die. It makes since that if your shield is low, then continual punishment would kill you. It does not make since to have health, since a fatal shot is exactly that, a fatal shot.

Firstly, the armour has biomonitors that tell you your health, damage etc, giving you a good idea of 'health' (in the novels anyway).

Secondly, you could simply make it so the health bar recharges over time (essentially the Halo 2 system but with visible health); the armour also injects biofoam, which repairs wounds.

In Call of Duty, you show how your condition is by red on your screen, blured vision, ect. And if you take cover and let you take a breather, you can go back to the fight. So that may work. I want a health bar back that is smaller looking and regenerates. But I bet thats for the upgrades in Chicago at the abandoned robot place T.A.R.D.S.

I found Halo CE health system much better.

It made the game funner having to search around. In halo 2 all i did was runn and gun. Never searching for ammo or doing anything besides going from point a to b. I felt like all the game was was story. Multi player is great and fun, but in Halo CE the health meter wasnt as strong as people would like to make it out to be. People make it sound like you were invincable. It made people have somthing other to do with themselfs. If i saw a box to hide behind i'd take it, but if it had a med kit i'd be much more inclined to get to it.

Who ever said the bio foam thing... ya know its not realistic to belive that your supplie of bio foam would be unlimmited. Just like its realistic to make guns recoil...( he can lift a friggin tank without flinching what the hell is with recoil. i think he can handle the presure and keep thre danm gun level.) Save realism for movie.

Heck ya, movie needs to be so realistic its not funny.

I bet Halo movie would be nice on a stormy night with hot coco.

  • 06.08.2006 1:28 PM PDT

A witty signature.

Whoever said it's more realistic without makes me want to punch them. You get shot 3 times and run away, then come back with the same amount of health? Excuse me? More realistic? What about monitoring the MC's vitals and translating that into a bar telling him his overall state of well-being? Is that so hard to believe? Not harder to believe than the recharging health system.

No, no Health bar, it was good when it was in Halo CE but when they removed it in Halo 2, can be without it. Searching for a medkit in multiplayer isn't really that great, bet you don't like it when they got your flag, you accidentaly killed one of your teammates, your health is low, your teammates screaming at you to go get the flag, but you need a medkit to survive, which you don't find. Also in Halo CE on legendary, going into a room full of covenant with only one red blip left of your former glorious stack of blue blips wasn't fun either. If they can come up with some new system, that would be great, but if they can't then no Health Bar.
