Subject: So the Forerunners are the bad guys in Halo 4?

Title says it all, so the Forerunners will be the antagonist? Do you like this? I haven't watched the Campaign footage yet, at school. If you did, is this true?

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

If you're confused by it, read both Forerunner novels. It makes sense within that context.

That isn't confirmed quite yet. Forerunner creations defending their installation doesn't really signal the Forerunners being the enemy. And the Didact's symbol flipping around...weird.

I think Didact was inside that ball.

The symbol had the same color as the balls lighting.

Maybe, but that's if it's the Didact. When I saw his symbol invert, it made me think of the inverted cross. That is usually used as a symbol for the anti-Christ, so who would be the anti-Didact?

As you progress throughout your life you realize that the older you get the closer your are to death, the only thing you cannot change.

They looked much more Precursorish to me.

An anti-didact would be Faber or a Precursor i think.

Well i hope 343 reveals some more in these days on the story.

It reminded me off the Didact symbol flashing at the end of terminal 10 of CEA in the same color.

As others have said, It just might be the AI's trying to defend the place. From what I've remembered we've changed since the war with the forerunners and when the flood-forerunner war broke out we were just a bunch of monkeys.

Didn't Greg say on his discussion boards that there are two Didacts? He could be the original one. Flipped his sign around to distance himself from Bornstellar maybe?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

There might be factions of Forerunners. Some good, some bad. We'll see~

No. Didact was killed by the Master Builder but Bornsteller was imprinted with Didact's "DNA", I guess thats the right word. So Bornsteller chose to become him in order to try and protect all life from the flood.

I know that however on his discussion boards he mentioned when talking about Silentium (3rd book) and what gs said in the terminals (if i remember correctly) he said there are two didacts now.

We didn't see it happen. That means there's a high chance that it didn't happen. He'll return; either he or Bornstellar will be the one to activate the rings as shown in the Terminals, and the surviving Didact will be the one we see in Halo 4.

Huh...I never knew that. If I remember Bornsteller tells Chaka that the Didact was killed by the Master Builder and thats why Born took his place.

I doubt the flood will play a magor role in this game. Also I hope the covvie are only in like one or two levels for the rest of the story.

I thought the diadict was executed on the quarantine world, wouldn't it be bornsteller instead?

Many gave their lives so that we could live on. I intend to honor them by remembering them. Remember Cyborg. Remember John. Remember Noble.

I hate it. Forerunners were space hippies. Never cutthroats. This came with Cryptum. I hate it.

Oh yeah, read Halo 3 terminals, not the damn books.

trololol

The only source that ever portrayed the Forerunners as a peaceful race was THE COVENANT - and everything about their religion was a lie. There was absolutely no source against the Forerunner being complete arseholes, Halo 3's Terminals even hint at it.

Not to mention that Halo 3's Terminals and the Forerunner Saga fit together just about perfectly, sounds like someone is just butthurt because their preconceptions were wrong.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

The new Forerunner enemies are a bit strange really.... I wonder if Sentinels and Enforcers etc will make an appearance too?

As for Didact.... the symbol flipping over is very strange and must have some significance. The only thing that seems to make sense is that he is somehow corrupted or deranged or plain-old insane.

hey maybe the master builder kept the real didact alive but kept hidden so he could used as a hostage or bartering chip against the librarian

You seem to be 5 years out of the loop. The Forerunners have been confirmed alive since Halo 3's release...
