Bye.

I was in the shower the other day, which isn't the best way to start a thread now that I think about it, and I started to think about DeeJ's male...Mail Sack.

In it's current format, the questions are asked in a big thread and 4 days later the questions are answered. So how could we change this to make it more interactive? What I propose is a live Mail Sack Broadcast.

Stickam allows users to broadcast a show live to thousands of fans. So on Friday for 20 minutes (or less), Deej would go live (possibly with a few guests like the mail sack) and answer questions from the community in the comments section, which updates throughout the stream. Not only does this eliminate the wait to see if your question has been answered it also gives a personal touch to the Mail Sack. Think of it as a Bungie podcast....but with visuals.....and questions.....and nothing like the podcast. It could even be embedded onto the Bungie site so that we don't have to go too far from home to ask questions. :-)

The Reverse Mail Sack was tried so why not the Live Mail Sack? So what do you think? Is it just a pipe dream? Would this thread have gotten more discussion if I had of talked about my shower instead?

The chat would become spammed.

Good idea. Stickam is crap. Twitch.tv would be much better, i'm pretty sure that's where they streamed Bungie vs. The World anyways. Good idea.

I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

TL;DR but yeah I think it be a good idea, should no trolls be present.

I know it sounds strange but it was were the thought originated from.

I only really know of Stickam but any site that offers that service would do and if bungie used twitch before then I suppose that's handier! :-)

It wasn't really that long, haha. I suppose people spamming the chat could be an issue. There's (usually) an anti-spam timer though :-)

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Epic games does this all the time and it is really fun.

I'm sure some mods would be willing to moderate any such live chat if they knew the date/time. Chance of a few bad behaving fellas shouldn't stop us from trying something new.

Fight your way out; only scrubs and mashers jump out of the corner

I like the idea; how about a potential middle ground:

Deej asks for questions via the forum and selects them, as usual, Then he could arrange for the authors of each question to be on the Mail Sack cast, along with all the involved parties answering questions.

I think this wouldn't be a good replacement for the current mail sack, but could be a great bonus, or possibly a segment from a podcast ( NUDGE, Deej! )

So some people who asked questions would be on the stream as well as the Bungie staff? Or have I misunderstood?

Regarding your idea... It's a good one. Now just isn't the time. The beauty of the Mail Sack is that I can do it all by myself - without distracting people who should be working on a game.

Well you have to pull out 6-8 people when they answer the questions, don't you? So it's not all by yourself.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

It's a well known fact that DeeJ only answers questions from his alt accounts. I wouldn't be surprised if these so called "Other Employees" were actually just DeeJ in different wigs.

He could email them or ask them after work. The current format doesn't require him to distract some VIP's from important work.

I think this is a pretty cool idea, and when the time is right (according to Mr. Gold Post) I would like to see it implemented.

That other guy

A live mail sack would be insane. DeeJ, i understand you dont want to disrupt people and halt any game progress but how about this. Set up a time far in advance and get your participants far in advance so they can prepare to miss out on some dev time. If you can get that taken care of this should work! Do it!!

We should know better, because we are better.

A good idea, but execution might be tricky. There is always a chance of spamming questions, the fact that not everyone will be able to make the stream, and grabbing a panel of people to answer questions. The thread works because it lets everyone from all time zones submit questions. A live sack would prohibit people from different parts of the world from submitting questions.

True, the time zones would pose a problem.
