Subject: Halo 4 Dissing

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Finally. I have absolutely no problem with the Master Chief talking, or his personality explored. Since the day I first played Halo 2, my first Halo game, I understood that I wasn't the Master Chief. He had been on Halo. He had trained to be a super soldier all his life. Bungie was never trying to put us in his shoes. He was the centre of a grand space opera that we were watching. I think that it's oustanding 343 is going to be exploring that more and mixing the books together with game canon.

Thank you! You're now my new best friend.

For everything remains, AS IT NEVER WAS."

Well, that was constructive Starkilla. Good to see this place relatively stagnated.

The Sprint armor ability pick up shows up at 1:20 in this video.

Saw nothing of a pick-up, and "sprint" is a core ability now, not a pick-up.
Here.

Plus, how did I imply that I disliked H4 having it? There are only a few things I'm disappointed about and Sprint is not one of them:

-Zealots. They're red Of course, as long as the shine is intact (as all we've seen of the Zealot is renders and a toy), I won't mind too much. I'd still much rather have gold Zealots. If you must ask, the renders of the red Eliet were confirmed to be a Zealot by GameInformer and McFarlane. But if they don't have a similar ability to lunge or try to avoid being shot while charging (i.e. making zig zag patterns like the Knights), I'd be severely disappointed. I honestly don't want to call them Reach 2.0 Zealots.

-small jump height, as unlikely as it is (near the end of the demo mission before the cinematics start playing, the player sprints and jumps. Notice the height)

-potentially nerfed pistol. It's been like this in every Halo with the exceptions of CE and ODST. Of course, as long as it has just enough ammo as the BR, that will work out. If not, it's going to be a Grunt killer and the 1st-weapon-I'm-going-to-drop (as the AR seems to be reasonably powerful again). In mp, it might be ok to make it a sidearm but in campaign, let me just remind you guys of Sierra 117's mission start...

And I'm not longing for the CE pistol. I just want a pistol with good range, good clip size, decent accuracy, decent power.

-2 melee animations for each weapon. This is an inference based on seeing the pistol in action in Spartan Ops gameplay. I saw a punch and earlier in the video, I saw the classic pistol whip (I'm pretty sure it's not the switching animation). It's been in Halo since H2 and I think it breaks immersion by not letting us decide when we want to do a certain melee. It'd be nice if how we press the button determined which melee we want to do (for example, if I lightly tap B, I should do the fist. If I tap B real hard, I should do the weapon's signature melee)

-Falcons. Though they're not necessarily confirmed (just because they appear high in the sky doesn't mean they're solid models), my concerns:

--will they be upgraded? I have tolerated most Reach elements in H4 but this is where I draw the line. If it's not updated, that tells me bias. Of course, it is likely placeholder.

--will the Hornet return with major changes? Even I hate the Hornet. Nonetheless, the AI followed me at times. I felt like I was actually leading an army. Yesterday I saw 25 of them in action. Destroying AA Wraiths. Simply marvelous. I used to be under the impression that they got wasted by them. It turns out I had to exit the driver seat for them to attack.

Here.

Oh damn! That was so brief I missed it completely. And don't worry man, I thought you meant that sprint was going to be an Armor Ability because I completely missed the icon showing. I didn't mean to make it seem like you didn't like sprint being core.

potentially nerfed pistol.
Might not be much to worry about. I noticed that some of the Spartans in the Spartan Ops showing were terrible shots with the pistol.

With the Hornet/Falcons, I'm hoping to see the two more blended into a single unit, following more of the Falcon's flight-style.
