jesus christ man how many times do we have to review this.
through out the halo series so far there has consistantly been two weapons (amongst others) that always stay in the game.
Halo 1 had the classic pistol which fulfillied medium to long range combat with head shot damage bonuses. This type of weapon was later fulfilled by the BR in halo 2 for this same role.
For halo 1 we had the AR to fulfill medium to close range spam/ automatic fire which was later replaced by the SMG in halo 2 for this same role.
Even if the AR as is being displayed for halo 3 does make a reintroduction it does not necessarily (and probably doesn't) mean that it will replace the BR. At worse the only way the BR will be removed would be by another seperate rifle that acts similarly to it (such as short bursts or single shot damage with no auto, along with a scoped vision mode)
Where as the AR would probably be used to replace or act along side with the SMGs as a possible alternative to dual wielding or as some other new method of attaining close combat damage with an automatic weapon depending on how it has been changed for this new game.
