Subject: Where is Bungie at E3?

It seems odd that they have gone this long without any kind of announcement, especially considering the rumored 2-year development cycle of their new Activision games. What do you guys think? What could be taking them so long?

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Where is Bungie at E3? They are in the spectators sections, because they aren't announcing anything this year :(

The only reason I can imagine for their decision to not announce the game at E3 where the cameras of the world would already be focused on them is that they must have really hated being forced to present their game at E3 when they were with Microsoft. I guess they want to do it on their own time and at their own pace, which is great, though means more waiting for us.

They had a bad experience at E3 when they were working on Halo 2. The build they brought with them was being worked on so much, they hit a brick wall of doom, and had to work extra hard to make up for all the E3 prep time.

So, I say Bungie is going dark to make the deadline, and to make the game strong on release. So be happy they aren't letting up at all. Be very happy indeed.

That is Irrelephant.

They don't even need to show a gameplay trailer at this point, a simple teaser trailer would be enough to spark hype and anticipation.

They don't need to be there. Nothing's taking long. They are working on a new game and that's pretty much it.

I'm still hoping for some sort of teaser on b.net on Bungie day. Even a small one would be good!

Would you want your game to be affiliated with the debacle that was this year's E3? Or would you rather emphasise your independence from Microsoft (and the creatively depraved scene of sequels and slow-mo interactive movies) by announcing your new IP at a time when you will have the spotlight exclusively to yourself?

By now, I don't know what Bungie is thinking or planning to release their IP.

E3 it's just the beginning, I suppose, maybe at PAX, but I don't think they will show something there.

The game will be released in 2013, they have E3 2013 to show something and create some hype. *If they plan on not showing anything this year.

It's assumed the game will be released in fall of 2013. Not confirmed. When DeeJ said see you in 2013, that could have easily meant "we won't be dark in 2013" and doesn't necessarily mean they will release the game in 2013. The contract says 2013, sure , but that is always tentative and could change depending on the studio's situation.

Bye.

I hoped at the very end of the E3 announcements DeeJ would run up to the stage with a badly drawn stick-man on a napkin and proceed to tell us how it was the future of emotive game-play.

@Vinyl_Hb

The longer they spend time on the game... the more epic it will be.

Also, arent they releaseing the first destiny game on the new xbox next year? Probably going to be a new console exclusive thing like Halo CE

Per Audacia Ad Astra!

I bet Bungie laugh seeing this catastrophic conference made by their old partner Microsoft. such a disapointing moment... well guys, i imagine they know what they'll do next year, let's summarize it briefly : "Smash everything" with the bomb.
I'm sure they're able to make it... it can be as awful as this year E3 (except for Sony-Ubi wich were decent).

It's obvious they are trying to steal the Halo 4 prototype.

Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

I don't think they are not ready. It may take them some time to get set in. We don't have any official reason why.

Well, say they are releasing next year as an example (it would be weird if they didn't seeing as it's in their contract to make games on a 2 year cycle and it's been 1 and a half years since Halo Reach), Bungie tends to normally follow a pattern of releasing a teaser one E3, and then following up the next E3 with the good stuff (at least, this is what I have observed). I'm kind of shocked to see absolutely nothing, instead of a teaser or something.

They didn't go to this E3 because they don't have anything to show you, they want to make a good presentation for the next E3. Bungie is dead serious when is about working hard in creating an amazing brand new universe.

I can wait, Bungie has never disappointed me before.
