The biggest UNSC Capital Star Ship vs UNSC Juggernaut cruiser

  • 06.05.2012 10:55 AM PDT

I'm fairly sure that the Infinity would cut the Pillar in half, thats basically asking if the Pillar could beat a forerunner ship, probably not gonna happen even if Keyes is captain.

I'd say given the interior design of the Autumn, with the honeycombed support structures, and Keyes at the helm, it might have a shot. I don't know what weaponry the Infinity has being a peacetime vessel, but I doubt it's anything like Forerunner tech.

For me? 50/50, honest.

Infinity vs
PoA

I think a last resort ship with forerunner and re-enginered covenant technology who houses S IV spartans and their training facility plus new updated systems, would defeat outdated Halcyon-class light cruiser who is only about 1.17 Km long(infinity is 3+ long).

State of the art warship Vs ageing rust bucket. My moneys on the Infinity.

The Infinity wasn't built for combat...

....? wha?
Infinity was built in case earth would fall, infinity was the last resort in case rest or human forces would be defeated, infinity was meant to oblitirate covenant to oblivion.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

This is like asking, who would win, a Spec Op Elite or a Suicide Grunt?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Don't mind him, he doesn't know his fiction.

Infinity would win by a long shot.

Yeah, stupid ass tactical move there. It'd make more sense to have Infinity defend Earth then sit and watch Earth be destroyed.

Anyway, Infinity would win because it's brand new top of the line gear, depending on commanding officer of course.

  • 06.06.2012 1:06 PM PDT

well...considering the Pillar of Autumn crashed on a Halo ring and then exploded, I would say infinity would have a fairly easy time winning.

  • 06.06.2012 10:10 PM PDT

Chuck Norris.

  • 06.07.2012 7:21 AM PDT

Infinity is an unarmed colony ship, with the intention to "discover new worlds". The Pillar of Autumn on the other hand, is a Halcyon class destroyer, that is armed to the teeth. Your question is irrelevant.

The Autumn would tear it in two.

[Edit] Oh, if you mean whilst the infinity was in it's commissioned state, It would probably have the power to take on the Autumn no problem.

It wasn't finished at the time, and even if it was, what happens if it is destroyed? Do you want your two only HQ's under attack at the exact same time by the same invasion force? And even if the ship escapes, now everyone in the Covenant knows about your secret weapon.

Suppose that any invasion force strong enough to take down earth's massive defense network probably wouldn't have that much trouble taking Infinity with it. A simple case of not putting all of your eggs in one basket.

Everytime I see a post of yours from now on that is a personal attack on anyone, not just me, I am reporting it.

Quit trolling and flaming.

Reported. Now shut up.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Um...it was made by ONI. And if it isn't combat ready, why all the need for the Spartan-IVs and military vehicles and such? And you really don't think it would have any weapons?

Are you daft?

Link me to the trailer and I'll point out where the UNSC Admiral specifically says "the first UNSC cruiser not built for combat but for the expansion of the human imagination as a whole" - not word for word what he said but something like that.

EDIT: here
Starting at 1:17 "A vessel meant not to wage war but to peacefully advance human relations through the discovery of new worlds."

That's all well and good...but the Office of Naval intelligence still made the damn thing. And again, if it is merely a craft designed for peace and colonial expansion...why all the military hardware.

But you can go ahead and just blindly accept things at face value. I mean, ONI has never lied or had hidden agendas before, right?

The last sentence of yours I agree with but see my previous post and you will see it is anything but 'blind'.

But even with everything we know about the Infinity, you say it isn't combat ready...that's blind bro.

"A vessel designed for battle, but now repurposed...for peace."

That's like saying the Starship Enterprise isn't armed because it is an exploratory vessel.

repurposed - past participle, past tense of re·pur·pose
Verb:
Adapt for use in a different purpose.

Meaning it is no longer designed for battle. (So the 'official story' says anyway)

Many gave their lives so that we could live on. I intend to honor them by remembering them. Remember Cyborg. Remember John. Remember Noble.

If Pillar has Keyes, then it wins.
