Subject: Master Builder returning in Halo 4?

Perhaps the Didact isn't an enemy but instead is the Master Builder Faber. Yes the one who executed the original Didact's body and tortured his buddies. Makes sense too.

The threat depicted in Halo 4's tagline depicted it as being a very powerful threat. And Master Builder was indeed a powerful figure back in the days of the Forerunners. He downright humiliated The Didact in terms of his proposition for the Halo Array.

Secondly, the Master Builder's fate was never revealed in Halo: Primordium or Halo: Cryptum. This may be evidence that he may return in Halo 4, maybe even the one inside the Cryptum the Chief witnesses emerging from cloak.

Lastly, Master Builder had clearly evil intentions. Why the Promethean constructs were hostile is beyond me though. He also personally opposed The Didact which explains why the symbol at the end was red instead of blue and it was turned upside down.

So any thoughts?

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The hostility of the constructs isn't that surprising, every time someone in halo has ever entered one the local constructs fight if they feel their installation is threatened.

Now it could be the Master Builder, but I only see him as a figurehead for something bigger, a Precursor.

While i agree with you the theory is kind of old.

That was exactly my guess as well, yet i cant seem to find any pictures of his symbol which is why i think the ancient evil is HIM!!!!

(To discuss Halo 4.)

I have talked to someone who has played Spartan Ops, he said he didn't want to spoil the story, but he did state that the interaction between the Covenant and Prometheans 6 months later is: interesting.

So my theory from this:

MB and Didact trapped in the world. Need a ship to escape. MC intially meets the MB, thus hostile orange Prometheans. Blue Prometheans are Didact's.

Didact and UNSC team up against Covenant and MB.

All while the Precursors make their return, maybe not in Halo 4 but something else.

Except that Faber isn't really evil, just a corrupted politician in way over his head. He has no build up as being this universe-threatning monstrosity, and really the only reason people say he's the Ancient Evil is because he was an antagonist who was never confirmed dead.

Though you would be right in the sense that the Prometheans are guarding something trapped in the world--343i was saying the Crawlers were amongst the occupying force defending against Requiem's emerging threats. The line from Primordium that says another servant will be freed upon Primordial's death just tells me that it's a Precursor.

If Faber is a villain in H4, then he's with the Precursors, but he's not the main threat.
