I'm still not entirely sure why they are so BIG. They are massive compared to a Spartan, perhaps even bigger than a fully standing Hunter.
Forerunners themselves were extremely tall. The smallest a height a Warrior-Servant would be was 7 feet tall, some would grow to about 12. The Promethean Knight is 10 feet tall, that's a relatively balanced height between the Warrior-Servants.
I feel that its just not really very practical. Forerunners seem like practical people who believe in mechanics and physics, having a weapon system that relies on floating appendages just doesn't seem Forerunner to me.
Onyx Sentinels? Enforcers?
I know what you're saying.... but they're just not the same. A Sentinel, Enforcer or Monitor is a floating self-contained platform it seems that the ability to fly is simply just a useful way to move around. A Promethean Knight has elements of floating with some floating Rayman parts but with none of the practical advantages. They can't fly like Sentinels and yet they have pointlessly suspended parts, what is the advantage of having separate legs?
To me they are simply bad designs..... but then I am getting used to this with H4.
The suspended parts are, supposedly, so the object can reconfigure itself. The weapons all reassemble themselves to fit human hands; Franke confirmed this in an interview. A static, single object like a human rifle could never do that.
