just looking to have fun, message me if you want to play

it really does seem to work this way. Even in h3. I'll even admit, I was griefing a kid in h3 yesterday because I got sniper and he betrayed me for it without even giving me a chance to use it. I betrayed him once on purpose, to get it back. I then followed him around for a little while taking his shields down and ended up accidentally killing him again.... nonetheless no boot and he invited me to play after lol

If you have a really clean betrayal record, it takes a few betrayals before you get the boot. I go probably days without betrayals. Sometimes weeks. The last time I can remember betraying somebody, I racked up 3 in one match on Boardwalk due to some bad grenades/rockets. I wasn't booted.

If you betray consistently, say one per match, eventually that catches up with you and you'll get booted instantly after a betrayal even if it is your first one from that game.

Ultimately, I've seen if you are just careful about your grenades and where your teammates are (i.e. NOT putting Wraith shots at a group of bad guys until AFTER they kill your half-wit teammates) you'll be fine.

yeah i guess, it is pretty rare that I betray people but it still seems to be the times that I do it purely on accident that I get booted.

I rarely see it happen and never have been booted.

oh I can tell when a betrayal is done on purpose or not but I don't care. Someone kills me it's better for them to be off my team than on it. They usually bring the team down with their super awesome -15 k/d anyways.

If they aren't my friend then they are gone.

I find it overused. Any time I accidently betray someone, it's insta kick. It seems I'm the only forgiving one though, because I'm always forgiving for betrayals. Unless ofcourse, it's on purpose; in that case, to hell with you. I've had someone betray me twice for no reason, then when I finally betray him back once, he booted me. What can you do? :/

Bad luck, mostly. I find the betrayal system works just fine for people with immature habits. (besides when you search alone in Grifball)

  • 06.13.2012 12:44 PM PDT

When your spirit is floatin' down the tunnel, toward the light, you know wot's behind the light? It's not god. It's me. And I'm gonna kick your --- soul all the way back down the tunnel, 'til you choke on your own ---'d up ribs. Now. Wake. The ----. Up!

I don't boot unless it happens three or more times. Even if it was intentional, I let them think they're funny, let them have their little joke, and go back to standing on enemy heads.

True, but to tell you the truth most people who want to boot people because of true reasons don't usually get it, but when people are just being idiots, and booting people because of stupidity its just a huge problem. We need some more mature players on so we don't have to deal with these idiots, or at least less likely n to be booted for stupid reasons like accidental hitting. of all things, I believe the real problem is the maturity level of the players and the problem of the booting message not going to the people that need it. and a lot of the time i would like to boot people for purposely betraying yet I never get the boot massage so thats another problem that has yet to be addressed.

I do the same thing, but we have to be a bit more strick on them, or else they will never learn to respect their teammates.

  • 06.13.2012 4:47 PM PDT

and guys to tell you the truth most of the betrayal booting problem takes place in big team.

Everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinion.

I'm part of the Bungie.net Minecraft group/server called SeptaCrafters
We're a Bungie.net group that goes to our very own Bungie server. Most players are from the Halo community either off Bungie itself or through word to Halo friends.

Play with friends and the problem will be solved.

Well really when I play Invasion with friends I end up betraying most of them. Its not my fault they get in my way o.O

Why are you getting three betrayals in the span of two games?

You deserve to be booted just for being careless.

I agree. Even accidental betrayal is careless and deserves booting. No one wants a teammate that goofs with their Ghost and splatters them.

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

Agreed,

I only boot for 2 reasons.

If I am betrayed for a Weapon or Vehicle = Instant Boot

If I am betrayed for no reason = Possible Forgive

Anything else is a Forgive.

I hate when someone gets booted when they are dominating in a Tank or Banshee, and accedently betray someone and get booted.

Worst, when you are that person who is booted.

I like to use the Waith or Scorpian Tank. This can cause you to more likely get a betrayal.

Most betrayals are from grenades, vehicles or heavy weapons.

The boot system is needed, but still needs improvment.

It can be annoying if you've betrayed someone by accident, it's like they are already pressing the button waiting for the boot screen to come up!

  • 06.14.2012 6:16 PM PDT

Walk by faith. Dude. Not by sight.

You were carelessly spawn killing and you betrayed team mates and you wonder why you got booted? If you have already won the game, making sure you don't actually kill your team mates is probably more important than running up the score and padding your k/d.

Booting system needs to count damage done (or betrayal assists) . I finally get rockets and can finally control a bit of the map, ony to have some jerk ally sprint of to me, melee me, and watch me get shot in the face by a guy I was originally prepared for.

I also wish the betrayal system would look at what kind of damage you are killed by with more significance. Be more forgiving with, say, Wraith shots, but less with melee.

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

Almost all betrayals are from the carelessness of the betrayer. If you are in a tank or have rockets or whatever, that means you have to watch for where your teammates are at all times (which should be a constant anyway). If you betray someone, it could have most likely been avoided simply by the betrayer being more careful.
