ALL XBOX 360 ARE REQUIRED TO BE MADE IN HIGH-DEF!!!!

And Halo 3 will undoubtedly come in 1080i, too.

Why not? I guess i dont know what you are asking. I have a 15 inch HDTV (I'm in a small room) and i use 1080i. I like it better than 720p

The Xbox 360 (as far as I see) doesn't make Halo 2 look better... it actually has software lag when playing over a LAN game (Me and friends have LAN games). But if you go look off the side on the level where you have to extend the bridge on Halo: CE, you'll see that the anti asailing maked the fog smooth! Very Cool...

I'm certifiable.

I'm told that 1080i is better for static or slow-moving pictures while 720p is better for action stuff. I can't test that myself, however, because although my set supports both formats (yay!) I don't have any video players that'll output any higher than my Xbox (1) yet.

-- Steve's thinking that the difference in the two scan rates will be fairly minor for most of us humans... and for the few who can tell the difference, odds are it'll be a matter of taste.

I use 720. I don't know why, but that 1080 gives me the chills.

1080i does seem a bit slow at times, but 720p cuts off half of my screen

1080i is a higher resolution while 720p displays all the pixels on screen at the same time (1080 is 1920x1080 while 720 is 1280x720, however i means interlaced so only half of the pixels of 1080 are displayed on screen at a time, normal TV is 480i so normal TV is also interlaced) the obvious best choice is 1080p which is 1920x1080 AND displays all its pixels at each frame, however, only high end LCDs, DLPs and projectors (and very few other technologies) support 1080p right now and they are very expensive (best 1080p LCD out now is the LG 45in but its way over $4000 now) personally I like 720p the best since I cannot stand interlaced, not even normal 480i interlaced which is why I hardly play Xbox/PS2 games or watch TV any more.

EDIT: Also, when a TV supports a standard such as 1080p or 1080i, it also supports all the standards below it and you can switch between them depending on what source you're using.

For reference when I say below I mean in this order;
TOP
1080p
1080i
720p
480p
480i
BOTTOM

Note that there is no such thing as 720i.

You can choose between 480, 720, and 1080 on the Xbox Dashboard setup. I have my HDTV set to 1080 and it looks awesome. It makes Halo 2 look shiny like on the Banshee and Ghost's. In my opinion its the best.
